  1. Can't understand why there has been no interest in this beauty. :/
  2. I can't rate these basses highly enough! My main basses are the 5 (same colour) and 6 (Red) string versions of this bass....and if I had the cash, I would be adding this to the collection! Great feel and tone with the Peavey Cirrus. Good luck with the sale...it will make someone very happy!
  3. Hey Callingltu. Did you get the 1010? I am keen to know how you are using it with the GR55 as I use the GR55 as my main unit and would be keen to understand how useful something like the 1010 is for getting the best out of the Roland. Cheers.
  4. These are a very underrated bass! I use both a 5 and 6 string versions as my main basses because they are so comfortable to play and have such variety in tone. Good luck with the sale...this will make someone very happy!
  5. Where are you practicing? If it has a wooden floor, then you will be pushed to get a good sound regardless. If this is the case, try a grammar under the cabs. I use a GP12SMX and as mentioned previously, I never need to change the EQ settings. As standard, I set the EQ to a smiley face - slightly lower mids with slightly raised top and bottom, playing through a 2x10 and 1x15. I then only change pre-shapes or tweak the knobs, not the EQ. Having a valve or solid pre on mine, I always keep the pre to full valve. I have tried other heads, but I keep coming back to the TE head.
  6. Hey Shockwave. As a Letts Bass owner, and having tried to deal with Jon Letts, I fully feel your pain and sympathise with you. That said, mine had an awful hum and buzz when I got it, but this was a quick 5 minute fix. Any buyer considering this bass, rest assured that it is still very much a quality bass guitar. If people are put off with dealing with Jon, ask yourself this, would you not buy a bass purely based on the after sales support that you can get? I may own a Letts, but my main bass is Peavey Cirrus - if I was buying on aftersales support, I wouldn't have a Peavey either! Good luck with sale and I am sure that anyone who plays it will buy it...and then most likely set it up to their liking any way!
  7. I have one of these, same colour in fact. Great bass and very underrated. An absolute bargain even at £120!!!
  8. Hey Matt. It is a wooden bridge with a metal back plate, but your right, it may be worth checking if it is making good contact. Cheers!
  9. Guess that rules out fixing a crack! :/
  10. Cheers Clarky. I have sent a few messages over the last few months, and none have been responded to. I initially had some responses, so I know that I have the correct address. I have accepted that they are not willing to help resolve the issues, hence I am curious if anyone else was having similar problems, or if I have just been very unlucky.
  11. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing any build quality issues with their Letts Bass? I have a 7 string Letts bass that has always had, what sounds to me, as an earth problem. When you let go of the strings you get a buzz...touch the strings and it is silent. It is so obvious that you hear the buzz cutting in and out as you play. But it gets worse! I removed the cover to check the wiring, and not only was the soldering sub standard (one wire was barely attached), but I noticed the shielding was split. On closer inspection, I noticed that the bottom layer of wood had been split and re-glued at some point. On further inspection, the shielding is split due to the crack starting to spread into the other layers of wood. I have tried contacting Jon Letts, but my recent emails never get a response. I am also pretty sure that the original website stated that the bass would have a lifetime warranty....I couldn't find any mention on the new site. The other issue that I have is that the frets aren't level, but the bass is about 2 years old now so I will give Letts the benefit of the doubt on that one as frets can move over time. So back to my question, has anyone else had any build issues.
