1.
In Brighton, try: Prince Albert Latest Bar Above Fitzherberts Bar 42 (Worthing) Green Door Store Pav Tav Once you've done all them you might get a crack at Concorde 2!
Big thanks, lead isn't keen on Green Door Store as he thinks we haven't established ourself enough Applied to the Blind Tiger in the week only for the city to close the bloody place Will go about pursuing the other places you mentioned though, I assume those without websites have Facebook pages or drop boxes we can apply through? Much appreciated T
2. Hey guys Query's in the title. We seem to have all the necessary parts - setlist, soundcould (albeit not a great one) and the odd contact here and there but we've been having trouble getting gigs I assume owing to lack of experience/establishment (could easily be wrong and we could just sound sh*te, but nevermind) We're a 3 piece blues rock outfit from the Brighton area and are about to leave college so making hay while the sun shines is a big priority. We've been messed around by a few of the lower end promoters and our demos aren't really up to scratch to start putting out to the bigger ones. I know plenty of people on BC have gigging experience in the South East and was wondering if you could share your plethora of knowledge - mainly what are easy 'first' gigs in London/Brighton/South East? Ones where the management and crowd are understanding of new bands and where you don't require a backlist of gigging experience or a cult following to get the gig? Also we'll play for nothing - it's a passion not a living we're after Any help is greatly appreciated T
3.
Think they were updated from Highway 1 to Highway One in 2006, ie a second version. Think the second version had graphite rods in the neck but to be honest can't be arsed looking it up. Maybe tomorrow.
I believe it's when they started putting the 'greasbucket' electronics in instead of a typical tone circuit. Mine is 2006 and I know it's the first year they introduced it (still no real idea what it actually does mind) but I think that drives a slightly higher price for them. I paid £415 plus a clapped out epiphone for mine, also I think trans finishes sere introduced in 2006 but might have to look it up
4. I believe I've found another http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/bass-guitar-body-PUNK-ROCK-RELIC-80s-sunburst-/161229392839?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item258a054bc7 Clearly this bloke is the same league of deranged as the seller linked by the OP if he expects £65 for a PLYWOOD body that he's dragged across his garage floor
5. By no means the weirdest thing on this thread but it's a rare-ish bass in the rarer Ebony Black colour - not as rare as the blonde version but rarer than the sunburst finish http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191121612966?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT No association with the seller
6. Beautiful bass, sent a PM your way
7. If you're up for getting on a train for an hour come down to Brighton and give these guys a look http://www.gak.co.uk/en/4-string-bass-guitars About 100 different models in store alone
8. Maybe a Highway One Precision or Jazz? the nitro neck finish is nothing as thick as the SquierCV's or MIM Fenders, also the nitro trans-blonde is gorgeous if you're into those kind of finishes I paid £410 for mine and I've seen a few on ebay and the classifieds going for similar
9. Dean MetalMan Z, tree trunk neck and no tones whatsoever that said I'm sure it'd suit somebody still not quite sure who......
