Did some further research last night  and there are just none about in the usual music shops - just a 5er in GAK.

Suffice to say I was at Dawson's for opening - they were so sure I'd be back they'd actually put it out the back off sale !

Even got permission off the boss - a happy ending !

Late to the party but I picked up a standard Epi Thunderbird a couple of weeks back and it's absolutely sweet.( Original owner put a Gibson truss rod cover on it and just playing it I was sure it was a Gibson till I was told otherwise.) The white one in the earlier posts - to die for !

I was in the town shopping early this morning so decided to pop into Dawsons and see what was new . I spotted a Gibson EB 4 which I liked the look of so had a go . I'm in love  !

It was a really nice looking bass , as light as anything and a neck which was unbelievably fast. Tonally it really floated my boat too. I even got compliments on my playing from another punter (that's never happened before !)

Mrs Straker is away for the weekend - do I buy it on finance tomorrow and smuggle it in ?

The Cort headstock is at least to scale and is quite tasteful.

This Bite one looks like this with tuners IMHO.

The bass itself looks o.k, the headstock shape and logo look really cheap and nasty. Why would you do that ????

Hi Mark, Completely open minded - guitars or basses, any number of strings ! Whatever it is it needs to be in mint condition that's my only prerequisite.

I had a CTM15  and the B- Social which were both terrible and I've got an LB30 which is sublime. Just need to sort out quality control issues.

A buyer on here backed out on me a couple of weeks ago. I'd taken the bass off sale on here  pending payment as well as on ebay (losing my final value deal), gumtree etc. It was frustrating, but in the grand scheme of things not the end of the world.

I've done many excellent deals on here and met some lovely people, but unfortunately have had more issues on here  buying and selling than in any other marketplace. I did used to believe in the BC code of ethics as suggested above,  but the forum is just a group of disparate people and as buyers and sellers we just need to protect ourselves as best we can.
