2. Way tooo much stuff! something has to go SOLD <Fully flight-cased cab (see the pics) 15" + horn I bought this not long ago on 'bay from a real gentleman bass player unfortunately it won't sit comfortably in my car (i know... i know... get a bigger car! ... not an option where i live so, regretably, i'm offering it it here first great sound, incredibly 'LOUD' ! - the horn can be attenuated to give less 'top' if you wish (it can produce a lot of top end!)> but still available Carlsbro STINGRAY amp ( i know - its a guitar amp - but it does work with a bass) built in distortion too... they call it 'suzz' i think! backup amp? leave it at your rehearsal room?? £60 to start negotiation.... SOLD <second option cab plus Behringer BX4500H - as new - boxed with all instructions / paperwork etc 450w plus the extras / Ultrabass subharmonics / Shape filter / 5-band EQ / Bright and Deep buttons /l limiter / VU meter complete with footswitch etc etc> prefer to sell but happy to consider trades.... also... still trying to sell or trade Bassman 135 - £399 Japanese Fender precision (modified) - £475 Trucker 120w PA (amp + x2 speakers) - £85
 3. bump - but with a price drop - still open for 'negotiation'.......
 4.
I would love this to partner my 1996 surf green MIJ P bass, if only I had the time and money to restore it to its original state. When were the MIJs last offered in custom colours? Was it a special 50th anniversary year thing?
kind soul emailed me to say the pastel shades disappeared when it went to CIJ as opposed to MIJ - ie '97 - on (I'm learning a whole new load of 'stuff' today!) roger
 5.
I would hazard a guess that these were the original ashtray holes filled in and the visible screw holes are for a new bridge cover - only a guess mind... andy
you're spot on -- thanks andy roger
 6.
I was convinced that would be a "lawsuit" copy till I saw the MIJ on the neck. Just puzzled now why you don't say Fender anywhere in the description.
you're so right.... I can't believe i did that !! - of course its a genuine Fender!!
 7. does anyone know the 'official' name for this colour?? thx
 8. Don't want to do it but as no-one wants my Bassman 135 ! Here's my heavily modded Fender Japanese Precision. Its the 50th Anniversary model (thats the Fender anniversary in '96) Not sure what the body colour is called but its (sort of) salmon pink (ish) added <<<<< thanks for the info .... apparently its 'Shell Pink' >>>>>>> All hardware is black and includes scratchplate badass bridge tuners / machine heads - including drop-D black volume & tone knobs / nut / string tree / strap knobs EMGs fitted (black - of course ) there are holes in the body and the scratchplate for pickup & bridge covers (i still play with he pickup cover on!) and also for the thumbrest (could probably find a thumbrest if you wanted - any colour you like - as long as its black ) neck is maple with a gorgeous grain running through it the holes for the original tuners can be seen in the headstock but they have been filled there are 2 small dings on the top edge of the body and one on the bottom... annoying when these things happen! thats what it looks like - its set up the way i like and sounds great - i know not everyone likes EMGs but being able to change tone quickly and easily without major changes in volume as happens with a 'normal' active configuration suits the stuff i do I know its not 'original' and i've had some valued comments about that but heck, these are 'tools' that we use to express ourselves and this is a 'player' and not an ornament but.... if there's no genuine interest then i will try and revert it back to something like its 'original' state - but with a couple of extra holes in the body ! thanks for looking... & as with anything personal like a bass you're very welcome to come down to Dorset and check it out to see if it suits you (sir)... price? how about starting negotiations at £525 ? trades? .... hmmm...... i do have a hankering for a Jaguar bass & fancy trying one of the TC RH 450's ...... 12.
Get 'B' Tattooed on your thumb n keep it
13.
Are you interested in a trade for a 4-stringer? I have a Yamaha RBX200 fitted with EMG active pickup/electronics, in very nice condition.
hmmm.... thinking on that - mainly for the EMG pu..... i'll get back to you but thanks anyway roger
 14. OK...... my brief sojourn into the underworld of the low B is over. Only got 4 fingers on my left hand and they already have 'E', 'A', 'D', & 'G' tatooed on them so..... Here is my Yamaha BB-N5 5-string on offer Ideal to see if 5 is for you or not without breaking the bank Overall pretty good nick - see the pics - and a reasonable action too Could probably do with a new set of strings - I've never changed them! Serial number looks like LI07210 and the Yamaha site says it was made on February 7th in 2005 or 1995 or 1985 or 1975..... as they repeat every 10 years! my guess is 1995 The Harmony Central reviews are generally very favourable Start to negotiate at £140? could put it in a hard case for an extra tenner..... or maybe trade for anything interesting? (don't be offended if i say no tho' !) welcome to come and try if you're round this way (Poole - South Coast) Thanks for looking and if you're interested - get in touch! 15. hmmmm..... interest seems to have dropped off...... if no-one on bc fancies it? - then off to 'bay we go....

 17.
As well as bracing these old Bassman cabs, i.e. front to back struts; it is well worth lining all the joints with 1"x1" wood with glue and proper counter-sunk wood screws. This helps seal the cab properly and enables the speakers to push serious amounts of air out without losing it through the cab's seams. This also helps prevent farting, which I've found to be a praticular problem when playing bass loudly through un-modified Bassman cabs. Alternatively, eat less beans! Boom Boom!
sincere thanks for that bassnut62! how to make it sound really, really good to go with the looks!
 18. the cab.... didn't know what speakers were in it till i took the front off looked up a bit more about the cab and it seems that, with just a little bit of extra bracing it can be made to sound as good as it looks! (not that it sounds at all bad at the moment ! am in discussion about the amp - so the cab *may* be available on its own... offers? trades? (will confirm) which model eminence?? - i thought they were suited to 'compact' cabs too? or am i wrong again?? roger
