  1. Thanks Phil , yep that makes sense. Something tells me I'll end up building it with just the Fane and find it's just what I need !
  2. As a happy Basschat 110T user (and with a sheet of 12mm ply left over) I’ve been reading this thread with great interest. @Phil Starr I know you mentioned early on that this works well without a tweeter because the Fane has a decent high (for bass) frequency response and has better dispersion than a bigger driver might - but still I’m wondering whether a HF unit/horn (like the Celestion in the 1x10”) would help make it not just an even better bass cab but also something that could be used elsewhere for keys, foldback etc. if needed , a bit like a Crazy 8 maybe. I realise that for all sorts of reasons it’s not just a case of bolting on the tweeter/horn/crossover from the 1x10” design so would need someone who (unlike me) knows what they are doing to make it work right. What do you think , is this worth doing or should I just go and buy a PA speaker ?
  3. All sorted now , thanks everyone !
  4. Thanks , I will try that ! Pete
  5. Hi, I need to change the email address of my account but can't find an option for this in my account settings - can anyone advise how to do this please ? Having been a member for 12 years I really hope I don't have to start from scratch and build up feedback etc. as if I never previously existed ! Thanks.
  6. Free to a good home - a pair of 1990’s “OMP Linnet” PA speakers . These were sold by BK Electronics (who also had made the well-known OMP Mosfet modules for many years ) – see attached advert from 1992. With 12” LF driver & Piezo tweeter. Rated at 200W RMS each (the 200dB rating stated in the advert may be a tiny bit optimistic though ...), 8 Ohm , 45Hz -20KHz. Connections are ¼” jack socket (plus 3-pin XLRs as was fashionable at the time ! ) . 510mm tall x 380 wide x 305 deep (20”x 15” x12”) , about 16KG each . Top hat for mounting on a 35mm speaker pole. I have had these for about 20 years - they were briefly used for general purpose PA vocal duties in a band (for which they were fine) , since when they have sat unused at home. I have tested them at low volume and they still seem to work as expected (including the tweeters) though I’m not in a position to try them at higher volume at home. Cosmetically they are in good condition with a few scuffs here and there but nothing major. Obviously technology had moved on and they are a bit old-fashioned these days (or perhaps they are now considered retro & vintage !? ) but they should still do the job for vocals and such in a rehearsal room or small gigs. Free but you will need to collect them in person from me in Brentford TW8 (about 1 mile from M4 J2) - I will definitely not deliver or post them ! Any questions please message me. Cheers, Pete

  11. Genz Benz NEOX-112T 1x12” 300W 8 ohm I’m selling my Genz Benz NEOX-112T cab – this is the Mk1 version with the dark grey carpet covering and Eminence neo driver (& adjustable tweeter). I bought this several years ago from a fellow Basschatter , since when it has been used for a moderate number of gigs and rehearsals – it’s perfect on its own for small to medium gigs , plenty of volume and depth , with added clarity/dispersion from the tweeter. The tilt-up stand on the bottom definitely helps you hear yourself more clearly on small stages. For anyone familiar with such things it’s roughly the same internal volume as a Barefaced Big Baby but a slightly different shape and (to my ageing ears at least) the two cabs sound broadly similar. It's all in good working condition and cosmetically fine, there are a few scuffs on the corners/connector panel etc. but the grille is undamaged and the carpet covering is in good clean condition. It has always been transported with the fitted Roqsolid cover which is included in the sale. I’m only selling now as I have acquired too many cabs over the last few years and don’t really have the space for them all so reluctantly something needs to give. I’m based in Brentford (near J1 of the M4) if you’d like to come along and see it / try it out, or I could probably meet up/deliver if reasonably close. Any questions please say. Pete. Here are some specs from Genz : - Power Handling RMS: 300 Watts - Frequency +/- 3db: 45-18K Hz - Sensitivity 1W/1M: 98 dB - Nominal Impedance: 8 ohm - Crossover Point: 4 KHz - Connections: ¼” & Speakon - Weight : 16kg - fold-away tilt stand on bottom - Approx dimensions (H x W x D): 457 x 535 x 410 mm (18 x 21 1/4 x 16 1/2 in).
