  1. Just got the lid off, checked all connections, no signs of oxidization. All ribbon cables look fine and as they should be. nothing loose or fried either, this is a proper mind boggler. May have to take a trip to amplifier A&E, bit of a shame as i was hoping for a cheap/free fix.
  2. Hello everyone, Thanks for your suggestions so far. I have tried cleaning all the jack sockets with contact cleaner and tried the patch cable for the send / return connection and none of them seem to work. However, I have discovered that when muting the amp and increasing the post gain, the hum / buzz instantly disappears. But when unmuting with the post gain increased it comes back as it was. Is it worth taking the amp apart and checking all the internal connections?
  3. There is hum within the buzzing sound but it can be mainly heard through the tweeters of the cab more than anything. I shall try those jack plugs that i don't use and see if this changes anything. If it does become those as the problem, how would that be remedied?
  4. No i've never used the send/return connections on this amp.
  5. Hey everyone, I had a gig last Saturday with my Peavey Tour 700 last night. No problems during the gig, usual loudness etc, nothing out of the ordinary. Come today and I've discovered that it has started buzzing quite loudly. It doesn't make a difference if the Bass is plugged in or not and is not affected adjust the pre or post gain. I've been doing some research and some early models came with a triac!? But It was only the really early ones which I believe mine is not because it has the Kosmos B octaver. I have also checked the amp with other cabs/ amp combos and it is definitely the amp so if anyone has suggestions to what it could be that would be great! Cheers Jake
  6. Moved to repair and technical.
  7. Leave your kind words here Thank you x
  8. I bought two Bergantino cabs from him and I have to say one of the nicest people I've done business with. Very accommodating. Cheers Steve!
  9. I have one of these and can vouch that they are amazing basses. Well worth every penny. GLWTS

  11. Well I am in a Funk/Soul function band so my sound isn't that rawkus. Just after a really well balanced sound across the spectrum that isn't going to break my back/balance. Thanks for your help so far
  12. Hello everyone! I am having a bit of a dilemma. I currently have an old Trace Elliot 2x10 bass cab (200watts @ 8ohms) running with a peavey tour 700 (700 watts @ 4ohms). Now the Trace Elliot weighs the same as a small hippo and I am obviously not getting the full power out of my amp. So, I have roughly £500 to spend on some new cabs. preferably running at 4 ohms (2x 8 ohm cabs or 1 x 4 ohm cab). Since the budget is fairly small my choice is limited so bang for buck is essential. I also use a 5 string bass so I would need cabs that could handle the low B as well. I am guessing to that the 2nd hand market would be a good place to look too. At the moment, I have been looking at the EBS Classic line 112's but their height is a little concerning. Also the Fender rumble 112's. Basically, I'm looking for opinions, suggestions, ideas etc to help me have a better informed choice. Cheers Jake
  13. Nice one man! I am considering 2 of these of cabs at the moment if my budget can stretch, would be nice to hear what you make of them.
  14. The only FX I currently use is an envelope filter which sits behind a compressor, so I guess as long as I don't rag the arse out of them they'd be ok.
  15. I have been browsing through this thread for a little while now and seem quite impressed with the classic line cabs. I am thinking about getting 2 classic 112's and running it with a peavey tour 700 (700watts @ 4ohms) and an Ibanez SR1205. I generally play funk/soul/jazz in a function band, Will these be a good pairing?
  16. Oh wow! I've not been in Deal long, I moved about 5 years ago with my wife but yeah I do enjoy my Jazz (currently busting my chops through the real book volumes at the moment) but not sure who Ian is, I will definitely keep ears and eyes open for him though.
  17. Haha! The similarities are crazy! I wonder if it will be be as good as the GB?
  18. Yeah I know they're priced for a certain market, but they seem to be better than most at the price point and I am not at the stage where I am gigging enough to warrant the next level in cabs.
  19. Yeah my plan was to run two cabs, i've plenty of boot space just not enough back strength to cart the bloody trace elliot around. It's good to hear that they will bode well when paired together aswell, I will be running it with the Peavey Tour 700 which has lots of tone shaping and gurth.
  20. Hello! It's good to see a lot of player representing the garden of england on here
  21. Hey guys, I am looking to upgrade my cabs soon as my current ones are far too heavy to carry around all the time. I currently have a 90's trace elliot 2x10 (weighs 35kg!) and an ashdown 1x12 that used to be a combo. Currently, I have seen the EBS classic line 112 as a good replacement, but very little information exists about their sound etc. Has anyone had any dealings with them? Good? Bad? If there are any other suggestions for cabs i'd love to hear them. Cheers Jake
  22. It's got a similar tone to the bass sound on Incognito's "Jazz Funk" album albeit different playing styles.
  23. I am south east side in Deal and yes the maverick works well, lots of tonal options and we do 80s/90s funk and soul, not your usual motown stuff
  24. @ras52 Indeed it does.... My 6 string (soon to be) I am looking to purchase within the next week or so and my cabs I should have enough saved by september. I am currently looking at the EBS classic lines for cabs at the moment, they do look very tasty and for the price they're fantastic!
