1. a free bump from me. Guys, deal with confidence. Bartozzi is an outstanding bass player, and really knows a thing or two about F-basses... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hStEIb_j4tg
2. Thank You! I honestly feel a little guilty for "bumping" this adv too often. I know that it's usually a matter of adjusting the price, but in this case I sincerely think that the price is fair. It's also good to know that I'm not the only one who thinks that this bass is awesome I'm open to reasonable partial trades, and if anybody has any doubt about anything, please allow me to clear it up. Howgh!
3. bump I really hope I'm not too boring yet But I've recorded another sample https://soundcloud.com/treyhr/roscoe-2 steel strings, lighter gauge The sound is sweet and fat but still clear, a little hi-fi and little vintage at the same time. Can be aggresive or polite, according to what you need.
4. Bump I've just checked and It weights 4,2 kg (9,25 pounds)
5. Thank you Wojtek! It's 2150 £ now
6. bump No love for Roscoe? I'm aware that I'm a basschat newbie - so if it doesn't brake the rules of this forum - here's my ebay feedback if it helps http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/treyhr If anybody came to Kraków the price would be 2100 GBP I might consider partial trade
7. up This one is very similar to mine The price now includes shipping. Poland is in the EU of course, so no customs duties. It is truly an amazing instrument, and i'm selling it, because after a month of testing and comparing I've decided that the FBass BN6 (that I also own) fits the music that I play slightly better. I can keep only one of them and believe me - it's not an easy choice. And my holy grail would be something in between these two beauties
8. And I promise that there will be a bottle waiting in the fridge Thanks Rich! ... again
9. I've recorded this little clip to show how it sounds. https://soundcloud.com/treyhr/roscoe-century-custom It's my Roscoe through an Aguilar th500 directly into audio interface. No EQ, no compression, no reverbs, nothing. The strings are not new. I found a similar model at the bassdirect site for 4150 GBP http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Century_6_Quilt_J.html I'll be happy to answer any questions! Chris
10. I wouldn't worry about this. Poland is also a member of European Union, so no import duties will be applicable. Regards! Chris
11. If it helps, funkpower is a great guy to deal with and a fantastic bass player. This bass is exactly as described, so deal with confidence.
12. If it's worth anything, mirszmarsz is a friend of mine and an absolutely great guy to deal with. Shipping to Poland with DPD should cost less than 40GBP - fully insured. Maybe they could help with arranging something stronger to put the gigbag in? Regards!
13. Thanks guys! I've spend some time with this bass, and I really wish I could keep it I have some local interest, so I'm sure it will find a new home soon. I've recorded some samples. Hope you will be able to listen to it. Cheers! 14. I just bought another Berg from Rich. Smooth transaction, no problems at all. Great guy to deal with! Thank You!
15. Hi! You can totally adjust the string spacing. in my case it's between 17,5mm and 19mm on different strings. I think it is an ETS tuning fork bridge, but with engraved Marleaux logo. I've replaced the saddles with new ones 4 years ago, that's why they're black. I like it that way.
16. Hi guys! My name is Chris. I live in Kraków - Poland. I am selling a 6 string Marleaux Consat Custom bass from 1999. Ebony Macassar. Bought some six years ago as an ex - demo model from www.mufa.ch and since then it was my main and only bass. 34 inch scale and 5kg. A truly "boutique" instrument, a singing, lyrical top and aggressive bottom. The B string is phenomenal. This bass reacts to any articulation tricks, very comfortable, moderately heavy. All strings sound evenly, all over the fretboard, in any position, everything is consistent, there is no buzzing, frets are almost in perfect condition, and the action is low. Almost every sound engineer and luthier that had contact with this bass praised its sound and almost every soundcheck was instant. I swapped the original Bartolini pickups with the ones made by great polish luthier - Zbigniew Wiącek. On Bartolinis it was typical hi-end - a lot of very nice top, and great, balanced low end , very noble, but a little hard and a bit too compressed for me. On new pickups it’s more open, deeper, and middle oriented and generally the sound is more soft and sweet, there is now an option to disconnect the coils. The second switch is a passive / active. Mr Wiącek has installed a dual knob - volume + tone in place of the original volume control , which gives you the possibility of such matting as in Foderas, but for me it works better on passive mode. The rest of the electronics is original, and I’ll add the original volume pot as well The main and probably the only disadvantage of this instrument is a scar close to the neck mounting screws, the little accident while tightening the screws, gently broke the body, but it was so slight that the luthier had to extend the gap using heat to pour the resin. It is visible, but (even though I know how it sounds ) this has absolutely no effect on the sound, comfort, on anything and it happened at the beginning of my adventure with this bass. Wooden electronics cover is slightly deformed, and years of playing left some scrapes, scratches and other signs of wear, but the bass looks great, nicer than on those pictures. I’ve just replaced the jack socket with the one that Gerald Marleaux has sent me for free. I know it’s not really important, but I really, really like this bass A lot can be learned. I sell it because after so many years of playing it I wanted to experiment on my sound a bit. Comes with Gator G-slinger deluxe gig bag and a set of new d’addario strings Some old samples, all from the Bartolini era https://myspace.com/...umi/music/songs - recorded directly through m audio fast track pro and some live recordings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lYyZ7XM4RQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZdNlfB-jt8 there’s a bass solo from 4:40 I sincerely recommend it! Asking price 1300£ - insured shipping with DPD in europe is included Not really looking for a trade, but who knows. I will gladly listen to anybody who's interested in this lovely bass.
17. Can't thank you enough
