1. Whicher TC you go for you’ll have to experiment with Toneprints from your phone - I didn’t like the default settings in Spectracomp or Hypergravity but found a decent transparent Toneprint for Hypergravity... not sure which one though!
2. I got one to replace the Spectracomp on my general board as found the Spectracomp was harder to control volume-wise live when switching in/out and coloured my tone too much no matter which Toneprint I tried, and the editor was a bit too much for me as well I've still got the Spectracomp for use where I want the tone colouration though AKA crazy slap break o'clock! Plenty of folks on here dig the Spectracomp though so YMMV but I found a very transparent Toneprint for the Hypergravity Mini, and having 3 knobs instead of 1 means I can quickly tweak live so suits me better. So in short, yep it works for bass! Just depends what you need it for though.
3. Now sold via collection, sorry guys & cheers anyway! Hope you find one soon.
4. Thanks for the interest gents - I have tried and failed to find appropriate packing materials for this little bad boy so for now it's collection only but should I be able to acquire the goods I'll update to delivery and let you good folks know!
5. Afternoon there BC Massive, Up for grabs is my joyous Zoom B3 – original version – which has served me most well until a recent pedal board upgrade has now forced its sale. Boxed with manuals and in perfect working order, just with a coupla small scuffs on the sides due to pedal rearranging biznizz (which I actually only just noticed when I went to box it up!) Power supply is missing as I’ve been powering it from a Cioks DC5 and know not of the original’s whereabouts, but it’s 9V 500mA for you electro-mavericks. With the lack of PSU I’ll do you a deal for £80 delivered in the UK, for your pleasure. Cheers folks!
6. Afternoon there Team BC, in the place to be. Do you like particularly wee things with a rather large sound? Well today is your lucky day! Up for grabs is my little PJB Bass Cub BG-100 in classic black which is a tasty but sorely underused treat so it is time to move it to a new home. For those not in the know, it’s a shoebox-sized six-kilogram 100W 2-channel combo – 2 instruments or 1 mic & 1 instrument – with borderline-miraculous 2x5" speakers of sensationalness, plus a limiter with dedicated level control, headphone out, DI out, aux in, shake it all about. Nifty, yep. http://pjbworld.com/product_basscub_top.html In almost-new condition, I’ve used it for home guitar & bass jams, acoustic bass gigs and even keyboard-in-a-garden shenanigans and it has been immense at everything, just not essential for my needs right now. It comes complete with the original gig bag which is a little worn per the photos but structurally A-OK, and in a moment of shoulder-comfort genius I’ve also added a removable padded gel pad (usually for bass straps) to the shoulder strap so your collarbone will continue to cuddle you for looking after it so well. £320 collected from SW London or can meet you in the capital. Cheers folks!
7. **Now £125** Afternoon there BC Fam, Up for grabs is my well used but much loved Ampeg Portabass PB210H which – would you Adam & Eve it by its moniker – is a super portable 2x10 cab with a horn = who’d have thunk it?! Now long discontinued, this 400W RMS 4 ohm lightweight delight – 14.5kg / 32 lbs in old money – has been part of my main rig until a recent upgrade and need for space has led me to this crossroads of oh-so-light cab-sale. It still sounds glorious and works perfectly, but it is missing 2 of the (tiny) rubber feet on the bottom and the other 2 are worn as a worn thing – all shown in the photos – and the original removable trolley handle is sadly no more… but none of this has affected its operation (aside from being slightly skee-wiff on stage, not that anyone has ever noticed!) or glory-tone (ooh-er!). All connections and handles are all good, just with some minor fraying on the top handle as shown dans l’images but has again not affected its Ampeg-strength at all. Priced at a compelling £140 now £125 for collection from SW London complete with an as-new Roqsolid cover, so grab yourself a bargain bass cab of the double bubble highest order and lightest weight. Tech specs below, for your enjoyment… Cheers folks! ------- · Neodymium magnet woofers = unusually lightweight · HF horn enhances articulation · HF variable L-pad control · Cab is constructed of Italian poplar plywood that offers lighter weight and greater resonance · 1/4" and Neutrik Speakon connectors · 15"W x 24"H x 15.5"D · 14.5kg 32 lbs. · Compact portability without compromised punch. (NB: The original removable telescoping handle is missing, and don’t quote me, but looks like this could be a direct replacement http://www.terralec.co.uk/handles/removable_case_trolley/16420_p.html )
8. Some-solid-interest-but-forgot-I-still-had-this bump!
9. Now £105 delivered So I was a bit of a silly billy and ordered these without fully checking the dimensions, so only the bridge pickup fitted in my bass - I installed it and though it had a sweet vibe it didn't really suit in combo with the existing humbucker neck pickup. As such, you're getting a used-for-an-hour-max bridge pickup and a brand new untouched neck pickup. These are the narrower CL version which is 17.5mm-18.5mm spacing / dimensions (so you avoid my pickup-pitfall): http://www.aguilaram...m/pdf/5j-cl.pdf Aguilar blurb: Fans of the Jazz bass[sup]®[/sup] know that J Bass pickups built by Fender[sup]®[/sup] in the 1970's sound very different from the pickups used in the 60's. The AG 4 and 5J-70 pickups bring the sound of the 70's to your bass: bright and articulate with a deep, clear low end. They are perfect for slapping, funk and R&B. Many rock players also prefer the 70's sound. Because pickup windings and materials varied so much throughout the 70's, we used several pickups from different years as our sonic models. Through a process of listening and prototyping we discovered the very small gradations of wire size and winding patterns that reproduce the bright and deep sound of the 70's Jazz Bass[sup]®[/sup] pickup. Available as a calibrated neck and bridge pickup set, the AG 4 and 5J-70 pickups are direct replacements for Jazz Bass[sup]®[/sup] style basses. The AG CL accepts a narrower, 17.5mm - 18.5mm string spacing.
10. Knock-knock-knockin-a-tenner-off type bump
11. Try a Sire V7 Vintage - the 'Vintage' ones have 70s spacing - though I've played a 5 string non-Vintage with 60s spacing and it was still acely snappy and 'open' sounding like an old school Jazz, though with a chunkier than expected neck. For you maths fans, you can get the Swamp Ash version for 16% of that £3k 'proper' price tag... and send it back if you don't dig it... https://m.thomann.de/gb/marcus_miller_v7_vintage_swamp_ash_4_nt.htm
12. Thanks Mike! Appreciate the support from the fellow Welsh massive! Giving this a lil bump....
13. Yahama NE-1 sold! Just the EHX synthy goodness left...
14. Stumbled across this double-bass-y-vibed Ibanez semi-hollow that might fit the bill and won't break the bank - Ibanez SRH500F... http://www.ibanez.com/products/u_eb_detail17.php?year=2017&cat_id=2&series_id=51&data_id=104&color=CL01 https://youtu.be/5b7bGpG-qvQ https://youtu.be/8TxT9tQAlbY
