I'd settle for everyone turning up to rehearsal regularly and being positive, with no egos. It doesn't seem that much, but it's difficult to achieve much of the time.

Would love to hear your thoughts about guys showing up for auditions unprepared.....
It's bad enough the guy turned up unprepared, but doing that when you've recommended him for the band is even crappier because it's thrown you under a bus as well. I hope he ain't expecting help in the future.

Devin Townsend blew my socks off first time I heard this song....

I'm Team Aussie this year - one of my favourite bands are representing Australia - Voyager.
They do a kind of synthpoppy take on prog-metal, I've been listening to them for quite a few years now, and they're bloody great. Their bass player Alex is also a monster player. This was their third try ad being nominated for Eurovision, and they got the nod! Here's the tune - it's a banger.
And Alex's bass playthrough:
I love me a bit of Voyager. I've been a fan since I discovered them quite by chance about six years ago.
Don't think I'll be watching Eurovision though....

You'd have been better just continuing with the 'tidying' from yesterday. 👍
It wouldn't have done the job. 2 litres of water and an hour blasting the coastal footpaths made me feel more or less human again.
I think another few months of abstinence is on the cards...

Sounds like you've struck gold there, dude. In my experience it's like herding cats. Enjoy!! 😁

mate arriving - tidying? Incongruous? 😂
Normally yeah.... but you should've seen the place. Grim, even by my poor standards! 😄

Respect to all those who did their first gigs later in life. I remember being nervous enough as a teenager, when I was full of testosterone and rash decisions. Taking the plunge in my 40s or so would've been a bigger ask for me personally!

Just watched England ladies win the 6 nations Grand Slam. Now trying to tidy this dump up before my mate turns up for a beer session..

Just out of idle curiosity.
How old were you when you did your first gig? I mean a public venue or suchlike, not just in front of mum, dad, Uncle Dave and the cat.

I've always fancied a go on a Warwick Thumb, and also a Strandberg headless.

Nickname a mate gave me because I used to go to the Greek Islands a lot

I used a Dinger 5 string playing indie rock as well as metal. They are pretty versatile instruments!

I had the same when England got dumped out of the 2015 world cup. Everyone left. BL negotiated a slightly reduced fee for us to finish early.
