  1. Learning a bit of Santana on guitar. About halfway through Smooth - some nice licks in there.

Discovered another song called Corazon Espinado.  Damn, my boy Carlos is playing some tasty shizzle in there!  That's next on the list.

  2. I loved a lot of his earlier stuff - fantastic guitar technique. I lost interest later as the songs weren't as good (to me, anyway) and live he just seemed to solo through everything.  He always had the reputation as having an enormous ego, but I watched his interview with Rick Beato and really enjoyed it. I think it was Steve Vai who said something along the lines of 'say what you like, but Yngwie raised the bar for all of us'

  3. You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC

    Ace Of spades by Motorhead

Livin on a Prayer by Bon Jovi

And I'm learning them all on guitar. Yes kids, I've moved over to the dark side again! I'm not bad on rhythm guitar, but I've never really experimented much with the widdy-widdly, so I'm learning these songs mainly because the solos are reasonably achievable.  I bought myself a USA Strat a couple of weeks ago to give me the motivation.

  4. Personally, as I've got older I have less tolerance for other people's penchant for being awkward. It's challenging enough to get four people who like the same music into the same room.... then someone decides to become 'difficult'.

A bit of time out can clear the mind and help refocus.  Good luck with it sir! 😎

My nephew (very musically talented) has just joined a band. As he's down in Cornwall I don't know if I'll ever see them, but I was talking to my sister-in-law about them and she said it was proving very valuable for the mental health of all the band members (I don't know if my nephew has any great need of help with his mental health but it won't hurt).

Anything that gets the buggers off their phones and communicating in real life as well as being creative can only be a winner!  Good on 'im!

That's as bad a generalisation as never joining a band with a couple in it. I was in a successful democratic band with Mrs Zero a while ago, exploding both of those myths simultaneously.

The thing about generalisations is that they apply quite a lot - they don't necessarily apply in absolutely every situation.
