  1. Anybody seen/heard this guy's stuff on YouTube?  He takes vocal tracks and puts rock backing tracks to them.  A lot of the vocal tracks are of the more traditional/ethnic variety, as well as some more comedy-based ones.  Some of the results are rather pleasing to those of a rock persuasion.

  3. People can do what they want, I guess.

However, it seems to me to be a shame when an act turns into an insipid, cover version of its former self. I've never courted fame, but I think I'd like to be remembered for what I was at the height of my powers rather than a shambling, incapable old fart with no integrity, that's purely interested in the cash.

That said, each to their own.

  4. Not bad at all.  Not sure I like it enough to part with my hard-earned though.

IMO the best Motley Crue album was the one that Corabi was on, maybe because it didn't sound like Motley Crue. Vince Neil has always sounded to me like Marge Simpson.

The problem is live. So many bands I've seen play much faster live than on their recording.

Amen. This is why I always make sure I can play a fast song at least 10% faster than the normal speed. Thank goodness for Guitar Pro!

  6. Tried it in my first originals band. The drummer was at the initial stages of a bunch of mental issues and would completely lose his rag if he came out of a fill slightly off time, lay the boot into his kit, and storm off to his bedroom. The band imploded shortly after.

Rehearsed to clicks with other bands and that worked well in that it made people aware of looseness of certain parts and changes. Worth doing IMO, but not to the extent of being a slave to it. Music has its ebbs and flows.
