So all Piezos? Input needs to be very high for those direct. Give the fdeck a try and see what happens.

First thought is what is the input impedance, and what pickup are you using?

Did you get sorted?

What's the back of the Shure like? Would something like Pedal Links do the job?
They are a bit like the sides off a bike chain - a bit of metal with two holes. Case mounts to the back of the pedal, screw to the board.Paul.

A standard body that people churn out by the score is always going to be cheaper than something that's most likely made to order.

https://www.guitarandbassbuild.co.uk/collections/custom-orders/custom-bass-body/custom-precision-bass-body/ lists a rear rout as an option.

How can we help make that happen?
Send Money. Send pedals?

It's certainly underwood/shadow type, but there are a raft of copies too.
The jack looks like a switchcraft, with a sleeve over it which makes me think it's *probably* an underwood. There should probably have been a cable tie through the sleeve to attach it to the tailpiece.P.

It's all academic really as I'm only putting it on because it looks cool, but we musn't take drilling holes lightly!
Worth the time for optimum cool.

Whilst you touch type on your iPhone, iPad, Samsung etc etc 😜
I wish! touch sstuff I am often all over the place. I far prefer nice real keys, buttons and knobs. I am also mindful of how easily I have accidentally liked pictures on facebook etc 🙂

Not convinced by touch controls...

At around 6lb, it's light enough to put in the van as a backup.

It really is a difficult price. I have two all-valve heads, one of which I am trying to sell, yet find myself tempted...

Think H&H have moved since.
They have - they used to have two places at the bottom of Churchgate, but have moved to Fold's Road and been bought by Rimmer's music.

You don't see a lot of Alembics around!

Booths have been there for years - I used to drool at their windows (and Harker & Howarths just further down) when I was a kid.

That's a good looking bass.

It's a simple bus - very like a daisy chain. Like basically the same!
It even *looks* vulnerable to shorts - i really hope it isn't as vulnerable as it looks.

If looking at pre's, there's a Two Notes Le Bass in the marketplace...

If you can get close enough with a modern amp to the sound, why not do that, just hide it behind a fake amp? some of the old amps of that era looked remarkably DIY.
You could build a fake head cabinet, basic ally sheet panel with a few knobs, a little bulb to pretend it's on and away you go.
New Amp GAS, but which one ?

You guys looking - whereabouts are you? I see tubes mentioned. I am a little north of Manchester and have an Ashdown CTM-100 (for sale) and a Fender Bassman 135 (NOT for sale) that you are welcome to come have a play with.
