Price drop £625

I'm not familiar with that MIDI controller, but you have to program the switch to send the relevant MIDI message to scroll up and down. Regarding the Tuner/Tap Tempo footswitch, go to the Footswitch settings in the Global Settings, you can then change FS3 to "Stomp 3".

... the inputs the lead goes into are XLR, hence the question. Are the outs both balanced on the HX Stomp (ie just using L/Mono output).
I’ve changed from a Classic Jr to a Nano so have no room for a DI on the board anymore (it’s now just the HX Stomp with an Aguilar Filtertwin and a Boss OC2 in each of the FX Loops). My old board went into a Radial JDi from the L/Mono output.
As @Jack said, unless you use a TRS to XLR adaptor, there is absolutely no benefit of using an adaptor in the first place. The outs of the Stomp are both balanced, but to take advantage of that fact, you would need to use a TRS adaptor.

Recently serviced (as in, last week) bump!

Yeah that’s just the one jack. You’d need two, and some mic cable, but means you can have the exact cable you need, length and orientation-wise
-
Quite expensive, but I made my own using Switchcraft MIDI jacks. They can be rotated when you build them so can be any of 8 different angles. I use mine with the HX Stomp also.
-
I use the DVP4. Its great! You have to fiddle with the settings on the Stomp a bit as the Dunlop is TRS and the Stomp is expecting TS, but mine works perfectly!

Pretty sure this belonged to me. It's without doubt the best bass wah I've ever had the pleasure of using. Great price too. I paid considerably more for it!

May be worth looking into the new Sadowsky Metro Express.

I've noticed this too. I remember when you could snap up a Stingray 5 in great condition with a hard case for about £700!

A lot of people just don’t get that the signal out of devices like these are more than good enough for DI. If it hasn’t got a XLR then its not a DI.
Obviously if you have to have XLR thats a different matter.
Yeah, XLR tends to keep the old noise boys happy

Yeah, but for some reason some people HAVE to have it on XLR.
Yeah that's what the adaptor I mentioned is for. Or you could just use a TRS cable if the desk has TRS inputs. 99/100 the sound man will have an XLR, so I made myself a couple of adaptors.

Well the Stomp has a great tuner in it, and if you dont need XLR out the Stomp also has the older BDDI in it.
Even if you do need an XLR out, just get/make a TRS to XLR adaptor and send one of the L/R Outputs straight to the desk. The Stomp has balanced outputs so no DI box is needed!

Here’s an example of one of my charts:

Black Cow by Steely Dan
I try to keep the form/structure/layout as neat as I can. Always favour new sections starting on the left, as opposed to mid-way through a line. A lot easier to find where you are if you get lost, as you can just scan the left side of the page as opposed to every bar. Double bar lines at the end of each ‘section’. Labels of Chorus/Verse/Bridge etc.
I mean I definitely am not an authority on writing charts - I learnt the same way you have. But after doing it for a while you pick up on little tips and tricks that help you - thinking in the way described earlier (what you’d want to be presented with on a gig) is a big help. The aim of reading is to make it easy for the player to play a tune they may never have heard, with little/no rehearsal time. You need just the right amount of information on the page. Not too much to overwhelm the player, but not too little that the player is left in the dark with how to approach a song they’ve never heard.
Feel free to PM me if I can be of any help!

My main rule is...
”if I was sight-reading this on a gig (I.e never seen it in my life) what would be easier to read...”
...this includes not only rhythmic notation, but actual layout on the page, use of repeats, D.S’s, other structural notes, chord symbols etc etc.
THIS!! Layout etc is just as important as the rest of the info on the page.

How are you enjoying the Dusk?
It’s a cool pedal. Not entirely sold on it, but in all fairness it hasn’t really been put through its paces yet, so there’s still time!

Hastily slapped this together as I won't get a chance now before Saturday's gig, and I wanted to get the Morningstar ML5 wired up. Only wired up two loops, and will be spending tomorrow programming all the patches for the board, but I can see some pretty cool possibilities here already!
Bass > Cali76 > ML5 > HX Stomp
Loop C - Aguilar Octamizer
Loop E - Dr Scientist Dusk
HX Stomp FX Loop - Pickle/Muff DIY build (Under the top tier)MIDI chain - MC8 > Hx Stomp > ML5 > Dusk
Mission Expressionator connects the Dunlop Mini Expression to the Stomp, MC8, and Dusk
Powered by 2 GigRig Generators (One for the Stomp, the other for everything else)

The ML5 only has 5 loops, so depends whether you need individual control of all the pedals. It looks to me as if MIDI is the way to go for your setup.
-
How many pedals do you have? Morningstar MC6 or 8 with an ML5 would work. ML5 and all pedals in the rack, then a single midi cable out to your playing position with the MC6 or 8.

But in chords rules get bent because it doesn't make sense when the root note isn't the lowest note i.e. it's an inversion (as far as I can tell). For me adding the low 'E' to a C chord would be interpreted as doubling up the third with a low bass. I would write C(E) rather than Cm6 as that would be C-E-A♭ rather than E-C-E-G
You are correct. If the chord is still C, and the bass player is simply playing an E underneath it, then yes it would be C 1st Inversion, which you would see written as C/E (C over E). Cm6 is another chord entirely.

Here's another I almost forgot about. My Dargie Delight fretless SR5 with John East 3 band pre and Nordstrand MM5.3 pickup, with an Aguilar Octamizer for good measure!
