1.
Well there’s some dispute about who played what on what. Don’t you think Jamerson pips Kaye at the post for his improvisation skills and right hand technique? :)
Ah yes, I forgot that newer people won't get that joke. It's quite a relic from earlier times on this forum (I think, might have even been previous incarnations) where there was a big discussion and quite a bit of humour involved.

  2. We have for sale section you know, it's also nice if new members would say hello first in the introductions thread, otherwise people might view you as an opportunist trying to take advantage of the market place without contributing anything at all. Not to mention it doesn't help your credibility.

Yes, I'm in a bad mood as I got little sleep, but my points still count.

  3. +1 on Malcom at Guitar Emporium, top service.

There's also a couple of second hand dealers to check out, http://www.fareastguitars.co.uk/ spring to mind as the main one, but you'll have to email him to see what's coming in on his next delivery and reserve it before it goes on the site otherwise it'll be gone sharpish :)

  4.
On the other hand, how do we even know he/she is 15?
Maybe its a 30-year-old guitarist spy come to stir up a bit of fun for his pals on some GuitarWrist-Action forum or summink....!!! :)
A Sneaky Six String Saboteur?

  5.
It's good to be modest, but not when your going around saying your a great bassist and your parents concur, if your persist with that attitude you may end up like Jeff Berlin, and thats a curse no bassist would wish on anyone.
Or more correctly, you'll be like Jeff Berlin without the talent. Something that man has bucket loads of, even if he's rather strongly opinionated and aggressive with those opinions.

  6.
Sorry.
It was the thoughts of an old bloke.
I'd suggest that if you want to get on in this business it's possibly best to use some archaic concepts such as punctuation, capital letters and full words rather than text speak.
But then again I don't arrange sessions so what do I know?
I dunno OG, but considering you're one of the supremos for band websites on here and know how to drum up much needed bookings for your band (and others), let alone all the experience you've got from being a gigging musician, I'd say there's no point listening to you, none at all :)

  7.
 I love it! We were both wrong... and right. ;) :)

    Not often that happens.
Quick, let's do a double team spanging with frying pans! That'll teach him for not being clear! :D

They're kind of an evolutionary dead-end, but I think they're cute. Sound awesome played clean with cavernous reverb.

And a whole lot prettier than the Bass Five that Fender also knocked out. Funny how they've never cropped up as re-issues...
Ah, but they did a few years back, for one year only.

There's still a few NOS ones on US sites for around $3k.
That's a bass VI is it not? Not a bass V as Skank mentioned.

  9.
if the loads are equal, ie both cabs are 8 ohms, then the 700 watts will be split evenly between the two at 350 watts per cabinet.
This is the answer for the op in regards to using the 2x10 and 4x10 together at the same time.

Although Alex comes in like the second coming of Christ just in a more engineering manner and spreads the truth via his teachings :) We should really erect a bunch of statues for him and the other experts like Dave Hall and Bill Fitzmaurice who grace these forums.

  10.
Anyone any idea how to change the link in to one that shows the start of the video ??
To the sticky in OffTopic with you! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=10414

  11. Er, Brum.

PMT is one of the best, and you've got Reverb who took over the Sound Control building (oddly enough, very near Kerrang Radio). There's also an amplifer shop in the Kerrang Radio/Reverb area, last time I went in they were stocking a very good selection of decent gear, Orange featured heavily and they had an AD200 sitting on two Orange cabs smack in the middle of the shop :)

There's one more but I can't remember the name, it's not as easy to get to as PMT/Sound Control though.

  12. To reiterate something that's been said many a time on this forum:

Boiling is bad for the strings. Not bad bad, but not brilliant. Soak them in meths/medical alcohol etc... in order to clean the crap off them rather than boiling, they'll last a bit longer. It's fine to boil in a pinch if you need a set for a gig, but it's not a magical cure all, strings do lose their strechyness over time, and boiling doesn't help by heating up the metal and causing it to expand and then shrink. Cold meths soaks are much better. Do a search on the forums here for the plastic pipe method.

And as you've said you've got sweaty hands, wipe the strings down with a dry cloth after practice/gigs to remove the sweat and oils from them as you're correct, that will be what's killing them.
    Or go coated.
