  1. A true gent from start to finish, patience and understanding (with Brexit!) and polite communication, it has been a pleasure, all the best.
  2. Haha, you've no idea how much your post will play on my mind after a few red wines this Saturday night...!!! 🙈😂
  3. I've never even played a Thunderbird before, but playing in a Who covers band, this picture always makes we want to splash out on an Epi Vintage Pro...agreed with the chrome covers and hardware, just looks altogether more...right to me. For those easily offended, I would need to play it at this height though...not necessarily to emulate JE, but just because of my wee stubby arms, I simply couldn't do the Murdoc from Gorillaz / Simon from The Cure stance...!
  4. I have a US Olympic White P, maple neck with tort pickguard, but lately been thinking of changing it, no reason, just purely for a wee change. I was thinking about maybe, anodised gold...akin to the '57 AVRI...? I've never been a huge fan of tort pickguards, but it certainly has its place on this colour scheme.
  5. Glad I'm not the only one...! 👍😂👍
  6. So, just recently joined the Ashdown RM club, and despite my initial stupid noobie mistake with the sub-harmonics - (it's on another thread!) - I'm already loving the amp. I've paired it with my existing Barefaced Super Twin. Aside from literally 10 mins at home, I've had literally ZERO chance to play it through the cab. However with no rational thought behind it, I would love to be playing thru two of these! https://ashdownmusic.com/products/cl-310-dh Question, am I being a GAS Richard...?! Yes, I probably am!!
  7. Btw, without reading back, can mind if it was this thread or the other recent one that they were mentioned on. Just to advise anyone interested, I emailed Ashdown the other day, they are waiting on the RM gig bags coming back in, should be shown available on the website by Thursday / Friday this week. 👍
  8. I play passive basses too, mainly P's. That's actually not too far away from where I ended up myself. The Sub, I highly doubt I'll ever use to be honest and the Drive, I started off around 9 or 10 o'clock, but quickly turned it down to about 7 o'clock. I'll get a better feel for it at weekend playing thru the cab though. Although I don't tend to set up my pedals at home, play thru a Tech 21 VT Bass pedal normally at rehearsal and gigging, so will no doubt need to tweak further.
  9. Thanks for that. 👍 Had a play around tonight, still only via phones - (I've a 3 year old, so I'm quite limited in when I can play "loud!) - but yeah, happy now I've sussed out my school boy error. Hopefully get a good blast thru the speaker at the weekend...but my initial reservations have definitely been reversed completely.
  10. Yeah, simples, eh?! Someone mentioned "Sub-Harmonics" the other day, so I'm tinkering all around looking for a switch...decides to look at the manual, it'll be that *big knob with "SUB" written under it...🙈 (*Coincidentally how I now feel) 😂
  11. Ok, so hands up who rushed straight in, plunking away and never bothered to read the manual...✋ I had no idea there even was a sub-harmonics function on this amp... 🙈 Instruction manuals are an eye opener...😂😂
  12. I'm running the exact same rig as you...only got my RM800 literally yesterday and haven't had anywhere near enough time to play around and get used to it, but having initial very early strange sounds to my ears...as explained in the other thread...to my ears, hearing like a "double" signal almost...I need to play with the EQ, drive, input settings more...
  13. Circumstances at home last night, I didn't get a great deal of time to noodle around, however I'd say it is very different to the Quilter I've been using. I'll be honest, it hasn't blown me away, but I think I need a lot more time to get to grips with it. There seems to be a strange tone to my ears, no matter how I play around with the EQ, it's almost like I'm hearing two signals, like two bass signals running alongside each other...even with headphones in, I'm still picking up like a "double" signal tone...is that normal?
  14. PJB Bighead for sale. Probably all know what it is and does, but full details here anyhow: https://philjonesbass.net/cms/index.php/product-ha-1/ Fully functional, boxed with protective pocket sleeve and an assortment of cables and leads etc. £100 posted to mainland UK.
  15. The eagle has landed...😎... Only had 10 minutes or so to noodle around with, but very impressed...will get a right good blast - (well, thru phones, wee boy in bed!) - later tonight, muck around with the EQ.
  16. I had my eye on a new head, had around the £500 to spend and took too long humming and hawing over your Mesa before you withdrew it. Two days later, this offer presented itself, so just jumped at the chance. My hasteful reading of emails though yesterday, I actually misread the tracking for the delivery...it's coming Monday, wasn't yesterday...still, given I was initially told end of April........🤔😂
  17. Should be here by 6pm, tracking not any accurate than that at the moment...suits me, I'm in all day (working, supposedly!) so probably better it comes after working hours...😂
  18. Just had an email saying my order has been dispatched after only yesterday I got one saying they weren't due back in until the end of April. That's a strange one, surely that wasn't a tactic to get me to cancel my order at the reduced price? 🤔 Happy with that anyways...👍
  19. Just had another email - your product order is currently out of stock, but should be with us within the estimated timescale of 3 to 5 working days. Sorry, feel like I'm completely hijacking this thread...it's this lockdown you see...it's either this or I need chat to the wife...!! 😁
  20. Yeah, agreed. I've no immediate need for it just now anyway, my Quilter BB800 will serve when we can rehearse - IF?! - and I've a PJB BigHead which I can use for quiet practice at home in the meantime. I'll try clear the credit card bill for April and it will maybe feel like I'm getting a "free" amp by then...!! 😅
  21. Had an email from GAK this morning to advise that the next shipment of these are not due in until END of April 2021, order will remain open unless I advise otherwise...so just as well we are in middle of a lockdown with no immediate need for it in the foreseeable...!!
  22. Luckily I ordered when I did at 12pm when it was sitting at £479...fast forward four hours and it's back up to £599...!
  23. That gig bag actually looks like it has enough room to hold the cables you need, unlike some. The case that came with my current head, Quilter BB800, is as tight as a gnats chuff by comparison!
  24. https://ashdownmusic.com/products/rm-gig-bag
  25. Doesn't say on the GAK site as far as I can see, but does it come with a case? 👍
