1. Okay - amp head sold subject to collection; just the cab to go now. I will delay putting it on the 'bay for now
  2. Okay - plenty of people interested but requiring postage ... sorry - going to insist on collection, *or* I will drive within a 40 mile radius of CW6 to deliver for a tenner (petrol money). The courier charges are ridiculously high - they are such heavy & bulky items.
  3.
Available separately, yeah?
Absolutely. Sorry - I should have said in the post.
  4. [s]Hartke HA3500 head &[/s] Hartke VX2x15 Cab for sale. [s]Head £170[/s], Cab £80. Both 3 years old. Cab had been used as a scratching post by the cat one night and the carpeting is coming off in one patch on the rear left edge (pictured), hence the price. Both in fully working order. Collection only please (they're big & heavy!), Cheshire CW6 area. Selling due to giving up the bass.
  5. It's not feasible at the moment - but I am going to Birmingham and Ripon in the next few days so can possibly meet up en route from Cheshire with anyone interested in buying it.
  6. Would consider trade/swap for a Peavey Grind 5 string (or similar) or an Ashbory bass
  7. 5 String fretless Acoustic Bass Guitar for sale. With Thomastik flats. £50 For quick sale. They are going for £145 on Thomann. Collection only. Cheshire, CW6. Bought from Thomann 2 years ago. Hardly played. Pickup system rubbish, hardly registers the bottom B string at all, but the others are picked up. 8. For sale Farida FJB - 20 in sunburst, this one £170 for quick sale, collection only. Cheshire, CW6 To quote the seller then "I am selling my recently purchased Farida FJB-20 in sunburst! This is an absolutely cracking piece of kit, when I tried it out I played alongside a US Jazz Bass (which it was the most comparable to) and some of the Mexican and Japanese reissue and deluxe series and it just ran rings around them, really crisp, clear and punchy but can get deep down and dirty with a bit of roll off on the tone, seemingly has an infinite sustain and it really does sound like a good Jazz Bass should. It's a good weight as it is a solid Ash body (will give exact weight upon request.) The neck is perfectly straight, feels very slim at 35.5mm at the nut and quick to manoeuvre around has those big black blocks on it which just makes it stand out a mile and looks very cool in my opinion and the action is absolutely superb. Nice, low, instantly playable and feels just like silk!" Still in great condition except a little ding on the top of the headstock (pictured) Weighs 12lbs. Complete with padded gig bag. 11.
Quick sale! I'd be interested in this if it ever comes up again. Just for the record...!
PM sent
  12. SOLD NOW I'm selling my Toby pro 6er as I cannot get used to 6 strings. It's this one - I bought it last November from a fellow basschatter. Great, versatile, MTD-style sound on a budget. It has been modded - details in the above link. It has a foreign knob for the treble control (it had no treble knob when I bought it.) I put d'addario nickels on it a couple of months ago. In very good playing condition, cosmetically there a couple of small scratches which I will detail in photos which I'll post later. Includes leather strap and padded gig bag. Collection from south cheshire only I'm afraid. As per heading, £280. My feedback

  16.
A girl went out on a date with a trumpet player, and when she came back her roommate asked, "Well, how was it? Did his embouchure make him a great kisser?" "Nah," the first girl replied. "That dry, tight, tiny little pucker; it was no fun at all." The next night she went out with a tuba player, and when she came back her roommate asked, "Well, how was his kissing?" "Ugh!" the first girl exclaimed. "Those huge, rubbery, blubbery, slobbering slabs of meat; oh, it was just gross!" The next night she went out with a French horn player, and when she came back her roommate asked, "Well, how was his kissing?" "Well," the first girl replied, "his kissing was just so-so; but I loved the way he held me!"
believe it or not I've not heard that one before!
  17.
wasn't h Bb? Something to do with composing tunes based on the surname of J S Bach, so the notes/chords/harmony were based around B, A, C, Bb.
H is definately B, B is Bb in German. I'm a French Horn player by trade - I have to transpose into all sorts of keys all the time, and loads of it is German music with the dreaded H - down an augmented 4th for me - always a bit of a head-scratcher.

  20.
Whilst on the subject of Abe Laboriel, I saw him (unexpectedly) on a youtube vid yesterday, this one, a scoring session for 'The Incredibles', at 2.54, his usual vivacious self, no coverage of him playing unfortunately, I guess he must be on a load of film soundtracks - anyone know any others he's on? I must check out this film & listen out for him!
Just looked at his biog - basically he has done virtually every film session going in LA! As you were... Yep, b5 - I've been a big fan of mr 'knightmayorz', from the youtube clip on your first post. Absolutely effortless playing, never a note out of place. Don't know how he does it.
