That still doesn't guarantee flat, as most pre-amps have some degree of pre-shape. Besides that, speakers aren't flat. Chances are if you did get truly flat you wouldn't like it anyway, as flat sounds quite sterile. I've never understood why anyone would want it flat.

To then introduce the eq settings little by little until I arrive at my prefered tone

  2. A band playing a gig to any backing tape isnt a truely live band.

My drummer says he takes cues from me and I obviously take them from him.

The vox/guitarist and lead guitarist take their cues from the rhythm section. If any one part was absent, I dont believe we would gel as a totally live act.

  3. Donated a gig at a local-ish ale house in Skegness.

Passed the hat around the punters a couple of times and, together with £100 from a secret Red Letter Day raffle, raised £510 in total which will go to the relief effort in Moldovan refugee camps.

    A nights work well done.

  4. Yes from me. Either a pair of Japanese P basses, a JV and an F MiJ, or two L2000s, one USA and one Tribute. All different finishes but all rosewood fboards with cobalt flats.

Havent bought a brand new bass in years but really liking that black P bass, looks very classy......and im in the market for a p bass too!

Me neither, always pre-owned, but a black/gold is on its way from Germany.

I think these may become quite sought-after. Thomanns said they had 20 in black but would be no re-orders once they had gone.

Ive a JV from '82 so it was only right to have this from '21 (as I think they are dated)

Delivered - set up like donkey. 7/64the at 17th on the A, unmeasurable relief at 7th, plus the A rings when played open. Will set up from scratch with flats and then judge it properly.

I notice that Andertons have a whole bunch of G&L's for sale under £400. Includes LB's, JB's and fallouts. Maybe worth a look as they are great basses for the money.

Yep G&L L2000s. PM me re one.

I always thought of relic'ing as pretentious until one day, fed up with the cheap glossy white of my Revelation, I took some sandpaper to the top edge where my plucking arm rests and rubs. It improved the overall look no end, and I'm not worried about any further knocks or scrapes. Where it looks real and subtle I'm now something of a fan.

Ive a red Revelation P. Can you post a pic of yours reliced please.

    Regards.
