There are a couple of suggestions in this thread here...
The "genuine article" from British Audio in the US appear to be £5.35 for a pack of six, but then shipping is more than twice as much again ($15.96, or about £12.24)!

Really like the GP7 - plenty loud enough for normal work these days surely (days of massive backlines gone?) and I always reckoned the road to volume was more or better cabs anyway. The 7 band is really good - the frequencies are just right I think and I wouldn't need more. Like the 12 too of course, like them all really.
Never tried a 110 but surely you'd need at least a couple? Would look fab, 2 of them with a 7 on the top.
This thread is reminding me to try and get my old Twin Valve back - see if the guy I gave it to (yep, and it was truly mint) still has it.Have to confess, I've only used the AH200GP7 + BLX-110 for rehearsals so far. With the current band, it definitely punches its weight, but was a tad lost at times with the last bunch where we had a volume-control-less drummer + keyboards going through the PA. With them, I added an Ashdown 2x10 cab to make a 3x10 stack, and just played along with the mayhem... 🙄

I'll turn-up to every practice, won't do tiresome bass solos, will syncopate between lead guitar and the kick-drum, fattening-up your sound, and will have no opinion about 'musical direction', just like bass players should.
I've been playing with bands that are 'nearly ready to gig' for four years, without playing an actual gig. I bloody love making music with other people. Happy to carry-on doing that; thoroughly enjoying practice sessions, or actually practice to the point of actually playing an actual gig.
I'm in my 50's with a mental age of 14 or so, and love what bass guitar can do to glue a band together. If that's what you're missing; I'm your man*.
[*Or your gender-neutral bass-person who's cosplaying a fat lazy old bloke.]
Blip me a DM, and I'll WhatsApp you on Instagram, or fax you a Telex at your Reddit PO Box number. Erm, bro.To be fair, that could be me. It isn't, but it could be... 🤔 -
Yes, I wasn't impressed with the look of the Laurel in the Squier photos either. The fingerboard on my CV '60s P (Fiesta red) is nice and dark, while that on my old CV '60s Jazz was even darker - in fact it was so dark and the position dots were such a dark cream that in certain lights my poor old eyes struggled to make them out clearly. 😳

Absolute first would probably be "Hey Joe" from some bass tuition book or other, but the first actually playing with another person (a mate from work on guitar) was REM "What's The Frequency, Kenneth?".

May be of interest to @TheGreek and one or two others. If it wasn't collection only from Witney, I'd have been interested myself - would have made a neat mini-stack with the BLX-110 I've already got plus my AH200 (and possibly tilted the Earth on its axis slightly in the process). Current bid £68, with just over 12 hours to go as of now (8:54am, 23 March 2019), so be quick!!!

Summat else - Butterscotch Blonde (neither white nor yellow IMHO). 😎

Mine’s here! Ordered 25 Dec at £22.18, Amazon have kindly refunded a dead fish(sick squid).
Result...
Ooh, now that's interesting. I ordered mine the same day, at the same price, and wondered whether I might be due a refund when the order was finally fulfilled. TBH, my understanding was that the "price difference" policy only applied on pre-orders, which I don't think this was technically, but we'll see. 🤞

When did you order it?
I ordered mine December 30th, no sign of dispatch yet.
Ordered it on Christmas Day (as you do, it's not like there's anything else going on... 😉). I've had a couple of "holding" emails since then, including one the day before it was dispatched - guess Amazon's crystal ball must have let them down!

It's here! And... Wow!!! 🤪

A mate of mine ordered it in early December (he reckons this was the first batch?), and then ordered a second copy last month when it was slightly cheaper. His earlier / slightly more expensive order was delivered today, and he's well impressed. Hurry up Amazon, dammit!!! 😖
Edit: just checked my emails, and it's been dispatched, arriving tomorrow!!! 😂
-
Mine's been "unexpectedly delayed", estimated arrival date is now March 12 2019 - April 16 2019... 🙄

No, apparently it's a handrest!

This popped up on my FB feed via a mate. Boss / SansAmp / Zoom / MXR / EHX pedals being sold as an "Effects Pedals Set" in Skelmersdale Cash Generator... 🤔
-
Same here with a Palmer Pedalbay - board is ready carpeted, so the hooked tape supplied goes on the pedals.

Another @obbm Rockwire user here, various lengths with a mix of Neutrik and Hicon pancake jacks. All good quality stuff, and it's nice to support a fellow BCer!

My OH got me Barry Matthews' "Fender Bass for Britain" and Barrie Midford-Millership's "The Mighty Hybrid and The Keeper of The Slabs" books, and I've just bought myself Geddy Lee's book. Just need a new bookshelf to keep them on now...

Yup... £22.51.
Trigger pulled.Likewise, though bizarrely it cost £22.18... 🤨

Had one of these as my first "proper" amp, and still regret donating it to my old lead guitarist to use in his studio before we moved to the other side of the country... 🙄

Good luck with your new project, and hope all goes well with the surgery. 👍

I think that £150 is a bit steep personally as they're not as rare as suggested. There's somebody on the forum who has one (unsigned). I bought the Varsity jacket they had for sale...can't remember who though.
The person I bought mine from said that all the staff were either given one or had the chance to buy one and they were worn by staff at most of the Guitar shows during the 80s.
Paul Stevens (former CEO at TE) gave his to a local charity shop when he moved to Blackstar.
Hah, that'd be me then... 😁
But yeah, I thought it was a bit steep too, and didn't pay anywhere near that for mine. That said, they are a decent quality jacket if you like that sort of thing, so I guess somebody might be willing to pay it...

Just in case anyone's interested, another Trace Elliot embossed leather jacket has come up on t' Bay. This one appears to have been signed on the lining by Paul Gilbert of Mr Big fame - can't swear to it obviously, but the scrawl looks very similar to PG's autograph on a couple of items I've found elsewhere on t'interwebz. I messaged the seller regarding the signature, and this was what she had to say...
"Thanks so much for taking the trouble to write to me. The jacket belonged to my husband who died in March. He was a bass player and the signature was on the jacket when he bought it. Not sure where he bought it from but it wasn’t new when he got it, obviously. "
