1.
Where would Bob plug into? If there is a line in then that might work. Dave
if there was a line in i would not be having any troubles at all. the bob the blender is no use to me as the signal would still have to be input in to the amp at a pre-eq stage therefore colouring all the signal, (ie all overdubs on the loop will be affected and therefore sound the same.) what i really need is post eq input like on the cube 30. is there any way this can be achieved? can the headphone out jack be converted as mentioned above?
 2. how simple would it be to add an aux input to an amp? just bought a roland bass cube 100 after lots of consideration. happy with the toys, bells and whistles but absolutely gutted i didnt check that it had an aux input or fx send/return. i do a lot of looping with a pedal and need the output of it to get back in to the amp post eq so that the loops do not get coloured by any pre-amp tinkering (which includes built in effects). with so many nice output features on the amp i assumed it wud cater for this, indeed the smaller cube 30 does have an aux in. i know its not an ideal solution but i really dont want to lose my hard earned cash on reselling the amp and wasting time where i could be playing. how easy/hideously diffficult would it be to fit an input just before the poweramp-speaker stage? in my head its just a simple matter of finding the right place and whacking in a jack socket but i have a feeling you might have a conflicting view........ this is so annoying as i know it's such a standard feature on so many amps, even those less well spec'd as this. what are your thoughts??
 3.
Once again, I'd seriously recommend against it. Why are you so loathe to take the hit of having made a mistake? These things happen. Besides, if you've just got it then you should be able to sell it for what you paid for it. Or you could see if you could return it? All you've lost is time. You've gained the wisdom to thoroughly check specs before buying - particularly if you have a specific function in mind.
yeah i know ur right but the stoopid thing is is that i did do loads of research, i make sure all my gear is exactly right before i buy it as im proper skint. im just shocked that it slipped my mind to check something so basic. its also that its so close to working fine, all it needs is one tiny little aux input socket and jobs a good un. its just dangling the carrot right in front of my face dammit!!! boo.
 4.
I'm not quite sure I understand what you want to do, but one possibility might be to use a small mixer instead of the 100 preamp, do your fx looping around that, and feed that into the 100 preanp/amp as the last element of the chain. Basic mixer or pedal preamp about £30?
the whole idea is that i want to use the features of my shiny new amp to build up some sweet layered loops, i could always just bass-looper-amp but then all saved loops would be coloured by watever sound i wanted to use to overdub. i need the initial bass signal to be idependent of the looper output, ie. preamp the bass input then feed it into the looper and then that to remain fixed as i did it, giving the freedom to change sound on the overdub with the preamp making nice sounding loops. i just cant believe for the quids worth of component thats missing im gonna have to sell on the amp, lose money and waste time. would anyone know where to start on adding in my own post eq(preamp) but pre-power amp input??? its obviously possible as the cube 30 has one. does it need various resistors/capacitors/transistors or would it be a simple matter of finding the right place to whack it in?? i know its a bit rash but im desperate and i really like the amp and dont wanna lose money on the resale.
 5.
yeah im deffo gonna have to give them a call but i figured i might be missing something ingenious. so the 30 has a line in does it?? is it 1/4 inch jack? cos i literally cannot find one on the 100.
i have just checked, the 30 does indeed have an aux in but guess what, the 100 doesnt. this is a giant ballache, anyone got any solutions?????????????????????
 6.
I think you can do it.... ( I have a 30X) by using the EFX out and line in. IIRC the line in (I used mine mostly for MP3) doesnt go through the pre-amp. Email Roland (or ring them) they are OK, dont tell 'em you want to rip it apart tho'.....
yeah im deffo gonna have to give them a call but i figured i might be missing something ingenious. so the 30 has a line in does it?? is it 1/4 inch jack? cos i literally cannot find one on the 100.
 7. i just shelled out for a nice roland cube 100. lovely amp that was pretty much the best fit for me as a small low powered studio/practise/rehearsal combo. heres the kicker, with so many bells and whistles i assumed it wud hav an fx send and return but it doesnt!! i use a looper very much and i need to use the preamp stage with all the fx and amp simulations to plug into the looper. no problem the line out does that fine, BUT i need the output of the looper to drive just the power amp/speaker NOT go thru the pre amp/eq stage again therefore colouring the sound all over again. does this make sense?? the roland has di out (pre and post amp), line out, phones out, ext speaker out, footswitch out x2 but only the one initial input as far as i can see. the looper has jack input, xlr input, aux input, and jack output. does anyone have any bright ideas as to how i can get this up and running? iv racked my brains but im out of ideas. is it even possible to open up the unit and solder in a post eq input????? its a last resort but i wud do it, cud be risky tho. please dont say iv wasted time and money only to have to find another suitable amp and sell the roland!!!!!!! nightmare!!!!
 8.
Well, there's a coincidence. It's not named after a road in Solihull is it?
yep, the band was formed on that very road. u know it??

 10. oh, and i forgot to mention im desperate for a top-end, low powered practise/studio combo. iv had the same practise amp since i first picked up the bass and its doing my head in!! ideally looking for an old SWR workingmans 10 or a small nemesis or ampeg. i have posted a wanted ad here and elsewhere but if anyone reads this and knows someone or something please let me know!!
 11. wat up bass chatty peeps?!! loving this site, got started on talkbass to numb the pain of a tedious day job but stumbled across this which is way more british and therefore intelligent, good looking and well-informed! thought i best introduce myself before i get too involved, hav already been posting a fair amount! im 21, been a proper bass-freak since i was 15. i class myself as professional standard having played loads of gigs with a fair few bands pretty constantly. i play a Sandberg basic JM custom with 3-band eq through an old school 2x10 trace which i love. also have a hotrod jazz copy project which i de-fretted and epoxy coated. i just fitted it with some tasty ebay dimarzio pups which i got for a steal. Proper jaco homage!! the best payoff was the producer at a BBC radio live session creaming over its tone last week, made it all worth while!! currently im based in Brum after leaving uni last year, im sticking around whilst im playing with an indie/electro band called Prospect Lane who are doing pretty well right now. its on the brink of being a big deal, lots of meetings and radio play and most importantly gigs. great bunch of guys and if we do start breaking through its only because of hard work. fingers crossed i can finally start doing this for a living not just cos its awesome. anyways, ill leave it there and get back to enjoying the site while i should be working!! thanks for having me, ill wipe my feet before entering.
 12. i am so tempted by this, i have been watching these on ebay for months. any power supply at all???
 13. cheers for the input guys, my thoughts are definitely its a problem with the pedal. the power supplies have all been standalone ones, not multi power and different wall plugs as well. it struggles with battery power as well, sometimes works, sometimes doesnt. so its gotta be the pedal itself right?? unfortunately its quite nasty to get inside it, built like a brick poophouse. ill have a look but it could be a short anywhere i guess. long shot but does anyone have any experience with the innards of this pedal or similar ones with similar probs??

 15. hi, first post on basschat, very excite!!! i bought the mxr bass auto-q a fair while ago of ebay for a steal, all was good, great sound, very musical then i dunno what happened but would spit and fart and not work thru batteries or power supply. boo. the really strange thing is tho i have seriously bought and used 4 different power supplies with the exact right output and polarity only to get it to maybe work for one session and then, bizarrely actually break the power supply, aka THE POWER SUPPLY NEVER WORKS AGAIN FOR ANYTHING!!!!! no led, no power. is it possible for a pedal to short out the power supply???? logically it doesnt make sense for me but all i know is what has happened and i have an amazing pedal collecting dust under a sofa. i would greatly appreciate any techy people coming up with a clever explanation and hopefully a solution!!!!
 16. nice amp! what power rating is it? its something i would be very interested in but price wise its a no go, im in brum so cud pick it up wat kinda offers would you consider??
