1. Sound advice guys and much appreciated, it really is a nice one, Walbassist knows a good bass when he sees one
2. Forgot to mention that i will of course throw in the original 70s fender hardcase !
3. 300 Watt RMS Hybrid head fearuring V Type pre amp, Mosfet power stage, pre/post eq, DI output, 4 ohms, effects loop, line out. All the benefits of a classic V Type head without the weight and reliability issues associated with all valve heads. I have owned V4 and V6 heads and this amp is so damn close to replicating that classic V type sound it just has to be heard. No issues with this amp whatsoever, no knocks, no scuffs and in tip top working order. Complete with original Trace cover. Not too many of these beauties out there these days and i would imagine very few in this condition. Incredibly portable weighing in at only 16kgs !!! Happy to supply any further pictures to serious buyers, carriage not included in sale price and you are more than welcome to try before you buy. 6. Lovely amp, good luck with the sale, I have got a flight case for one of these baby's if anyones interested in re uniting it with your amp !
7. I have owned and played this lovely bass for just over 20 years but time to move on. As you will see from the phtoos, it has the usual battle scars but it is a genuine instrument that plays very well and sounds just as you would expect a 70s jazz to sound. It has not been mucked about with in any way. I have toured with it for the last 15 years and it has had regular check ups and set ups. I hve not popped the neck to verify dates however I wouldbe happy to make this a condition of sale for a serious buyer once you played the bass and are happy with it. I can confirm the pots as being 1377625 = CTS/1976/Wk 25. There is a small nick just below the inlay on the 5th fret which I can't seem to capture on a photo but this does not affect the playability in any way. It weighs in at a smidge below 9lbs. If your are looking for a 70s Jazz I am confident you won't be disappointed with this one, its a good 'un. A great bass at a fair price methinks ! 8. Hi, is the cab sealed or ported ? Thanks
9. If you havn't tried one, check out a Hartke 210 xl, not expensive and it may suprise you. Good luck
10. Still using a Quatravalve and no way will i part with my V type either, am carrying a streamliner as back up but just no comparison to my ears.
11. Do you have the Fender 610 ?
12. Ah, it looks the business, don't suppose your thinking of selling ?
13. I am still using my old Trace heads, a lovely old Quatravalve and a V type and I for as long as my old back will hold out there is no way I am using anything else. Nothing comes close
14. I agree, they look the business, I would love to know if the performance matched to looks. So far its still looking like a bergie 610 but I am a bit concerned about my old back so I would love to find a lightweight alternative if poss !
15. Looking for some feedback from the good people of basschat regarding Fender Neo Cabs. Any experience good or bad would be appreciated, I am quite interested in 610 cab Thanks
16. John did a refurb job on my 61 jazz, you can see the results on his website. He is now working on my 64 P bass and i am talking to him about building me one from the ground up, cant recommend the guy highly enough
17. I've no idea what the shipping cost would be but can't imagine it would be a fortune to send normal delivery. A guestimate would be somewhere between £10/20 max
18. Lovely amp in perfect working order, comes complete with Streamliner Gig bag and spare valve. Purchased as back up to my Trace valve heads but just not used !
19. Original finish in sunburst with maple board and currently on sale at the gallery in Camden hence no pictures however, you can view the bass on their website www.thebassgallery.com I will retrieve the bass from them if anyone would like to try. I have owned this bass for nearly twenty years and it plays really well but has taken a backseat since i purchased a 61 jazz so its time for it to go.
20. 9 months old, unmarked and underused so now up for sale, comes complete with a bergie padded cover. Firm on price but any questions please feel free to call 07710 226003, thanks.
21. Just have a listen to Jame Jamerson, there's a complete melody in every line and not a single 'slap' or 'pop' in sight. Hows about 'whats going on' ? Russ
22. Ah, very interesting, i took delivery of a 69er last october but took it back under Alex's very generous trial scheme as it just seemed to lack the tight punchy mids i have been used to but i have to say, the lower end and volume those things produce is very impressive. Likewise the Hi Drive which is certainly lighter in weight than the XL but also sadly just doesn't compare to the tight punchy mids of the XL. Ampeg eh, i will investigate further. Thanks for your feedback guys, its always helpful to get opinions from fellow players, the search continues !!! Happy new year to you all Russ
23. I am new to lightweight cabs, currently using a bergie but missing the tight articulation i used to get with my old sealed but heavy Hartke so am looking for a sealed lightweight alternative. Any thoughts would be appreciated Thanks
24. Gareth was kind enough to let me try this amp and i have to say that you won't be disappointed, its the dogs !!
