I'm gassing for a new bass..I've tried a Ibanez sr1205 today ...loved the pups which were norstrand soapbars but struggled with the neck ..beutifull looking ..then spotted fender modern player great looking in Matt black with a maple finger board Loved the feel of the neck and sounded awesome to ..I know mayones do a jazz bass with fitted on a model and spector have there coda but it's huge money that I can't afford at the moment ...any ideas ...anyone ?

Quite like the Matt black with maple neck ..though I seem to be heading down the route of this maybe ? (If I'm a good boy )...

Looks stunning mate ...saw the black one in pmt on Saturday ...dare not try it ..I wouldn't be bothered by where it's born either , cannot see how you could justify the best part of 1500.00 to 1600.00 for a usa made fender nowdays ...

Really fancy the Amber 805 or the 806 ... Ever got on with the 4 string because of the slim neck ..tried a fiver and six in pmt , my opinions changed ...

would that be the ssd on eBay at the moment for £695.00 ? Looks a nice bass

I've never seen a euro in the flesh to compare ...I did have a cheaply spector a few years ago ...was euro shaped but not so rounded on the body ..never seen one like it since ..weak pups though ..(sorry mate I'm not really any help at all )!

My rebop had quite a chunky neck which I liked ...but must admit balance (small body) neck dive did put me off ...though beutifull looking. would be interesting to know the diffrence in body size on the euro as I loved the growl ...

Anyone know of a retailer that will send one of those atk 815 over here ..seems that model is not going to be available over here for the foreseeable future and I have gas for one ...

I changed it back to the original just for my own sanity , made the girlfriend listen to .she noticed a diffrence ...mind you the original that came of look nothing Special and it looks liked it had another retro fitted also......

They do make some of the most beutifull finishes for a mainstream manufacturer and I've never heard a bad word said about the quality unlike others I won't mention but like you say we seem to lose out in the uk

Yeah I had a 405 ...wish I'd never sold it ...now this is available in ash and if it's £650.00 to £700.00 I'd better get saving ...

Ibanez make a big statement with this bridge ??

I've just put a new bridge on my fernades Gravity deluxe ...there wasn't much wrong with the one fitted. ( being black hardware it's was a bit bland )I've rediscovered some love for the old girl and thought I'd change her look with a bit of chrome , wasn't a particularly expensive bridge when I bought it didn't fit the fender copy I have ...it's made a huge diffrence to the sound and the action is the best it's ever been... So does a "high mass bridge "...make a diffrence ..the atk bass bridge is huge and that has a monster sound ...

Colour I now doing my old aria that Id road worn !....looks nice mate

Had pf500 ...seemed very under powered , I believe there was a problem with the limiter and I did cook the speakers not once put twice ...ampeg did swap the head no problems but the damage was done
