I briefly though about the core, but if it can't do what the SY200 can do, it seems it doesn't bring much to the party over the HXFX.

Much smaller unit and I reckon using the effects you could get a cool synth sound going in the core, it’s just quicker in the Sy

I needed a new power supply and picked up what I thought was a bargain... Except it has three banks for 9v 100mA and three for 9v 500mA. On my other power supply almost all slots are for 9v 100mA. I'm checking my pedals, some clearly say 9v 100mA but others don't specify beyond 9v. Am I taking a risk plugging any pedal into 500mA if I'm not sure?

Your pedals will only take what it needs, so if it needs 30ma it will only draw that much, it could be plugged into a 1000ma supply wouldn’t matter.

lived with this for a while now it really does sounds great! also used it live a few times and again just such a nice conveniant way to send to FOH

and as a heavy user of distortion i hate the fizzy nature to most di even from my GK 2001rb this gives me the mic tone, am def grabbing the other version just incase i prefer it more.

Can someone help me with something?

looking at the Bassrig Super Vintage and going into the effects return of my GK legacy 800 and then going out to the PA with the D.I out.

problem is that I want to 8x10 cab sim to only effect the D.I out to the PA system and not my bass amp as I’m already using a 6x10 on stage and I like the sound of that so don’t want to run a sim out the Amp Out.

Can’t see any mention in the manuals.

    hey man

this is really similar to what i do, i run the vintage into the effects return of my gk 2001rb, the 810 ir is only on the di out, the lpf and hpf ar on the jack out so you can make things more even between the di and the cab sound.

    Sounds awesome.

Im a big fan of moose and he's a pretty cool dude. I think his distortion pedals are as good as anything out there. Super clean builds as well.

Up until last week he was based a mere 400m from me.

  7. the fact of no loop and not trigger input, its a shame as price wise its on par with units that have both, not sure why you would get this for £200 over the ns-2 or the tc

this also looks a bit silly up against the Zuul, they have basically put the gate from the bigger form pedals in a pedal..............shame from the teaser was expecting something more than a noise gate

The smaller enclosure Cat Tail looks awesome. I've been reading up on Rats, and this pedal (and variants of it) comes up all the time. Hope this isn't a stupid question, but are these good at low level or kind of really wild from the start, if you know what I mean? I know this is probably a different sort of band to what you'd associate with Fuzzrocious, but I've heard some stuff by The Wedding Present where they used a ProCo Rat on bass for some slightly grindy tones, without going all out distorted, with the distortion knob at like 9 o'clock. I'm tempted to just get a Rat to try and replicate that sound, but I keep reading about them losing low end. Does the Cat Tail nail that kind of lower level distortion or its strength at the more balls to the wall stuff? Thanks

they sound great at low gain, if you grab the 2nd distortion mod version you get the best of both worlds

How are you finding the Slicer? I used to use the double pedal version a lot many years ago and loved it. I've been using a Mooer E7 for some arpeggiator style work, but I'm really tempted to pick up the new slicer. Interested in your experience.

I really like it, midi is a big plus in such a small pedal, I’ve actually got the big double pedal aswell so I should do a comparison!

    they sound great tho

Unfortunately i think Boss have taken the choice not to include synth stuff to avoid cannibalising their dedicated synth pedal sales.

Tbh if you want synth and guitar stuff, grab the sy1000

I have the sy200 and it’s amazing, I use it on the sub out of the core and have it set to run straight to foh

It would have been nice to hear what the bass sounds like without all the effects. I know that's Troy's thing (although I don't remember him being into the flange/phase thing quite so much) but most of us want to hear the bass rather than the pedals, which seem to dominant here.

but it is his demo, as i said you arent buying that bass if you want a p bass its mainly for fans of troy, there will be plenty of di only here is the clean sound demos in a few weeks when its out im sure

alot of effects layers on the new album, i think the chord stuff he was playing was great.

I couldn`t tell as it was possibly the worst demo of a bass I have seen/heard. But I`m not familiar with their music so maybe that`s the reason.

Still bloomin expensive for a MIM instrument.

not really sure i understand, he actually plays all over the bass with a pick with fingers, he isnt doing a shop demo ie here is the bridge pickup etc hes playing similar lines to what he does in mastodon with some cool sounds that he likes to use.
