I think I sit in the "all my basses do different things" camp. What I mean is I have a passive 4, an active 4, a fretless 5, an acoustic a short scale semi acoustic 4 with flats and an EDB. I love owning them all but I wouldnt double up eg 2 Rics would be pointless for me. The only thing I think Im missing is an acoustic upright. That would make a full house in my opinion. Although weirdly I think I could be tempted by a double buck in the future

And that my friend is what all the fuss is about. Great isnt it. Sounds like youve got a ready made band to jump intoas well. RESULT Very well done. Look forward now to new opportunities and dont look back.

Dont back out. The vast majority of blokes in the room will want to do what you are doing when youre up there, but cant. You will have already conquered the nerves in varying degrees by
1. Turning up. (Easy cos you dont have a choice)
2. Bringing your gear (because youre showing everyone that you WILL play)
3. Getting up on stage in front of your friends (Look at them before you start. You will see nothing but support for you)

The nerves will disappear and you will love every minute of it. Dont focus on perfection. Focus on the enjoyment you are giving to everyone watching. Im envious. I wish I could bottle that first night feeling. There is nothing like it and youll remember it for ever.

Enjoy every second.

Ive got a very similar problem with my 210T. I only recently noticed it when I used it for a practice instead of my combo. Its not too in your face but I get a fizzy distortion to the note anywhere below D on the A string which dies out before the note does. Only from the top speaker. Ive emailed Genz and the stories are true, Jeff Genzler emailed me straight back. We are trying to troubleshoot it at present but it might mean a replacement speaker. Trouble is they are saying that because I bought it in the states, that my warranty is in question. Dont really understand that but will investigate that further. Im emailing them again tonight and hopefully they may have an answer. Ill post as soon as I know what the deal is.

All sorted. Got me a Morley A/B for £15 [url="http://www.morleypedals.com/daby.jpg"]http://www.morleypedals.com/daby.jpg[/url] so Im just going to put both basses into that with the output to Ch1 Bassbone and plug the Stagg into Ch 2. All I have to do now is learn to tapdance and Ill be sweet.

Good advice mate. I was going out of the wall into a 4 gang then out of that to a 6 gang with Rcd. It sounds like I need to revisit that set up. Cheers

HI all. A quick question for you. Up until now, I have used a tone bone Bassbone to input my bass and Eub. With the new band I use 2 basses and the upright. Whats the best solution. One option is to use another true bypass AB box into channel 1 of the bassbone with the 2 basses, and plug the EUB straight into channel 2. Is this overkill or is there a simpler solution. (Ill save you "just use one bass") Any other ideas. And if its an AB box any recommendations? I was looking at the Radial Big Shot as it would be nice to be able to adjust the input volumes, but I dont need a tuner out or a mute switch

Oh its pushed me into getting a backup head tho so I have a little visit planned to Carvin in LA next week to look at their BX500. With gig bag it comes to under £300 so I might be tempted. I like new toys.

Thanks Al. Thats something to think about. I need to find out if the shuttle has a cut out. I wasnt excessively loud but the amp had been on for about a couple of hours and played for an hour of that. Didnt seem massively warm, but I was in a bit of a flap by that stage. Ill check it out.

Well Ive checked out all the leads, jacks and power supplies and it all works fine. Even ran it for 2 hours to see if anything was overheating. Everything works fine. Thanks for the input guys. guess Ill just have to hope it was a one off. That and get a back up head just in case.

I need to bounce this off you guys. Playing towards the tail end of our first set last night my amp volume suddenly dropped to next to nothing. I couldnt adjust mid song so plugged away till the end. Before the next number, I tried to get my volume back by increasing the Master (on reflection not a good idea as there was obviously something amiss). The amp went wild when I played a note with the clip light doing sixteenths and a terrible distorted fast clip like sound at full volume. I wasnt running the amp above half volume if that.

We stopped the set early and I tried to trouble shoot. Checked the 9V batteries in the Bongo (full charge) and all pedals powered. Power to the amp and both cabs connected. On plugging direct into the amp it worked fine so suspecting the pedal board, I played the next set direct to the amp.

Ive just set up this morning to try and figure out what is wrong and unfortunately EVERYTHING works as advertised. So Im now thinking that its going to happen again mid set and I dont have a back up head.

My set up is as follows

Bongo HH into DHA VT2 OD into Tonebone Bassbone. Loop to Stereo Memory Man, OC2, EBS Autowah, Boss SYB3, Boss PH3 back to bassbone. Then output to BBE OptoStomp Compressor to GB Shuttle6.0 running at 4 Ohms into a GB 210T and 112Neox.

Im a bit stumped TBH The only thoughts I have are

1. I had to run a 6 socket single power lead from the DJ booth which powered all my gear and the PA(I had an RCD to my gear). Could the venue have dirty power that got past my RCD?
2. The only pedal that was live in the chain was the DHA but it was in bypass. Is the valve on the DHA or the Shuttle on the way out which may explain the drop in volume?

Any thoughts or troubleshooting tips would be most welcome

Ive only just started doing this but it works for me. I had to learn 2 full sets in a short time for a band I was depping for and have since joined with 30 songs that I knew but had never really played. I was having a hard time remembering which song was which.

So I have a little folder set up on a music stand out of sight of the punters with the each song intro and any difficult segments/fills tabbed in bold on a score. Thing is I dont use it that often but a quick glance before the song is enough to refresh the memory. TBH I think its more of a safety net but it stops me flapping when my mind goes blank.

In answer to your sub title "It Most Certainly Can". I have the Shuttle6 210T combo and a 112T Neox. Together they are the nuts. Great clarity punch and volume. At smaller gigs, I still take the 112T but dont connect it up, just using it to raise the combo and it has more than enough clout to carry the day. I had a slight clipping problem at the jam my band hosts when using the combo on its own with a couple of very bassy basses, but that was all down to my settings on the pre amp and is sorted. The combo is very loud, has great low end, but is very clear and precise in the mix. I wont be changing this rig and I would recommend it whole heartedly
