1. Thanks Si, I think we get more of a pat on the back with names than we do for our music Colin
2. Hey, this is the debut release from Guy Montag. You can stream it from http://guymontag.bandcamp.com and you can download it for free also. Hope you enjoy
3. Wow that's really interesting. I haven't tested it out yet. I was looking in to the idea before the guitarist bought a looper to see what we would be looking for. I'm going to see if I can borrow a looper with midi from a friend and hopefully it will work. Would I be right to presume that the first person to loop would be the master? And would changing patches then reset the midi clock? Guess I'll just have to try it out When I do I'll see if I have the same issue as you.
4. I think I'm going to have to put this one to the guys at Roland and see if its possible to hook up two pedals like that. I can't see why it wouldn't work, if the rc 50 sends the start message to the other like any other midi connection.
I dont know if this is posible. You might be able to wire them both up into eachother (your out> his in and vice versa).
Are you saying it might also be possible to sync both ways? and then my rc 50 would be able to both send and receive at the same time? If that's true then all my problem would really be solved as long as the guitarist gets a loop station with midi in and out
I like the idea of being able to record a loop, and then apply/mess about with different effects on that loop, and then rerecord the loop onto my rc50 at the end of my chain.
Interesting idea you have for the loopers, but why don't you get on to Tom at Cog effects and see if he can make you a pedal that will create effects loops and allow you switch your loopstation to pre effetcs and post effects or something like that. Would end up a hell of a lot cheaper haha and you would only have to record once
5. Ya can understand why its hard to justify a second looper, its just a pity that all the smaller loopers don't seem to have midi. If you don't mind me asking, why do you want a 2nd loop pedal at the beginning of your effects? Also, if I ran a midi cable from the Midi Out of my RC 50 to my guitarist loop pedal (Midi in) does that mean I am the only one who can control the tempo? is there any way we can both control the tempo depending on who is looping first within a song? Thanks again btw, learning loads
6. Haha, luckily enough I don't have a drummer issue. I'm just trying to find a simple way to get myself and the guitarist tighter at looping, and it would be a shame to loose all the features the boss rc 50 has and go for the digitech solo xt (this seems to be the only looper I know that has sync technology without using midi) . I don't really understand Midi and how it works so trying to get my head around it at the moment. Should any looper with midi in be able to stay the same tempo as the rc 50? Or is it only possible with certain loopers? Cheers for all your feedback so far
7. Hey cheers for the reply, don't seem to see any online there but I'm hoping I might have something tracked down.... I hope
8. Hey all, I am a bit of a midi noob so I am trying to get my head around a few things. I have an RC 50 loopstation and would like to sync this up to my guitarists loopstation. Is it possible to use my loopstation as a slave to control the guitarists loopstation or vice versa. Also, is it possible to contol midi without the use of a laptop? I only want midi to control the tempo so we are synced properly. Colin
9. I'm not sure if I'd recommend this power supply, some effects don't work very effectively with it. Have a source audio bass envelope filter that doesn't react too well when used with it and I need to use the individual power supply.
10. Unfortunately I had tried them already, nothing that suits, seems to be a rare thing on the net. Thanks anyway
11. Hey all, Being searching the net for hours trying to find the correct AC adapter for my DC Brick. I can't seem to find any with the correct spec of 18volt, AC, 2000mA, 36w. Anyone have any ideas on who would have one? Thanks for reading
12. Hi everyone, I'm looking to replace the tweeter in my Behringer BB115 but can't find the official replacement. Tbh, I think I'd rather upgrade it if possible anyway. Can anyone suggest a good tweeter to replace it with and are there certain things I should look out for when choosing the right one for the cabinet? Thanks
13. Thanks for the input everyone, I had a talk with Tom from Cog and he explained some options and gave me some very good advice. I'm going to go with the simpler single cab setup but will have a pedal made by Tom which will give me two loops which is exactly what I was looking for. It has a buffer in it so I'm hoping that won't effect the tones of the pedals too much. Also, the pedal will sort out any phase issues so seems like the best way to go. Thanks loads to everyone. I learned alot more from this thread than I thought I would starting out
14. Oh and added cost wont be much, i have nearly everything I need what complexities are you thinking Prime_BASS. I have thought the idea through alot but would like to be aware of something I might have missed.
15. I want two bass outputs for the simple reason that I find a huge suck on the bass when I use certain effects. It will give me more room to add different dimensions to my sound but still keep that low end. I hate listening to music that has no "umph" to it so I can't see why I would end up doing it myself. I wouldn't be looking for volume on each signal tho because there would be a 2nd preamp there where I could control the sound separately. That big shot seems to be perfect for what I'm looking for, thanks for that. I never understood why boss don't have true bypass in there ls-2 but I'm sure they have their reasons I also wanted to have the option to run the two at the same time and switch between a and b in songs for added flexibility. The only thing its missing is some leds to let you know which channel you are using think I might price the custom just to have that extra feature thanks for all your help everyone.
16. Hey guys and gals. I'm putting together a bass rig for myself and I have decided to run two bass signals by splitting the signal of my bass with a line selector. I'm not too knowledgeable about these pedals and am finding it difficult to find exactly what I am looking for. My setup is quite complex (well a small bit more complex than most I have seen anyway) but I do know what I want from the line selector. 1) I want it to be true bypass in each channel so the tone wont be coloured 2) I want to be able to run each signal separate to each other 3) I also want to be able to run both signals at the same time depending on the effects i want to run. I will be running two separate cabs for this which is a pain but it seems to be the only way to get the sound I am looking for. If anyone knows of one of these pedals or whether I would be better off getting one made as a custom pedal then I would appreciate any input, Cheers
17. Hey guys and gals, I am looking to upgrade my bass cabinet but while also upgrading I would also like something that would be smaller and compact and secondly, but not as important, lightweight. I will be using it for cover gigs but also wish to use my 5 string with it to play some heavier bass tones with effects etc... The had I am using at the moment is a trace elliot pre with a 600 watt crown poweramp (@ 4ohm) Any suggestions welcome
18. It depends on what you want really, if you want a compressed tone going in to the octaver and filter then you'd have it in front of them but if you wanted to compress the peaks you get from some pedals (like a fuzz or raw distorted tone) then you might like it at the end to iron out the tone. I use a compression pedal at the beginning but have being toying with the idea of getting a limiter for the end of the pedal board also because some of my pedals give peaks. For your setup it would probably be best at the beginning but that would be my choice. It really all about experimenting with them.
19. Interested in a trade for some of your pedals and a Source audio BEF pro? Interested in top synth, and newer wah.
20. Been watching some videos on the B7k and I think I feel the same about something missing, I know the only way I would know properly is to try it for myself. Anyway, I'm also toying with the idea of getting the AMT Electronics Bass Crunch instead. Think it might have more in it.
21. Hey all, I'm trying to decide which of these to get and hope some of your opinion will help me. If you have had any experience with these pedals then I'd love to hear it, especially about the AMT BC-1 since I guess its the lesser well known pedal. Anyway, the type of sound I want is a harsh but chunky growl. Both seem to be able to do it well from the reviews I have watched but I'm not sure as to which does it best. Also, any other factors I should take in when choosing between the two? Cheers, Colin.
22. Any interest in a Source audio Envelope filter as part exchange?
23. Hey you only interested in cash sale or would you swap plus cash? I have a Lakland 55-02 5 string bass. Would pay postage as I am in Ireland.
24. Thanks for the replies, gonna try it out and see how it goes, fingers crossed it will work.
