Ah, in that case adding in one of these is def out, the 13kg of the combo is just about my limit now.

The combo is ace. Let us know how it goes for you, but I found it plenty as a standalone. Kept up with drums, projected well and sounded great. Sure, it’s a super 4x10, but the combo alone is very capable.

Ace, great write up. Frightening warm up act to follow there! Wow.
Also, Yampeg. Dunno why I’ve not heard that previously, but it’s a part of my vocab now.
Would love to try one of these rigs, I play that same Yamaha bass (well, the 5) and love what they’re producing right now.

I’m going to have to be very disciplined and not get one of those 210 cabs, the whole point of this purchase being to reduce the amount of gear I cart about.

    Same for me 😂🤦🏻‍♂️

The combo is very capable, the weight/tone/power made it a clear winner.

  4. I’m pleased with mine too Lozz, just a really solid bass amp aren’t they. Very easy to get a good sound out of.

I just added the Rumble 210, for no other reason than I thought it’d be fun. The combo is plenty loud enough, mind you and really punches beyond its 13kg!IMG_3380.thumb.jpeg.7fc6b8a4bcd0ba15b3f8ebea2b4391ce.jpeg

It's maybe a personal thing - like you I could never quite bond with my 735A in the way I did with my 1025. There's just something about the passive BB's that Yamaha seems to have got so right.

Same for me with the 735 vs P35. The 7 was cool, looked and felt great, but I just didn’t love it, unlike the passive P35.
I’m now on the hunt for an older 415/425/1025 too! I’d bite your hand off for that vintage white 1025 now 😂

I'm selling my MXR now if you want to have a crack with that and maybe compare the two. £50 for the spectracomp is amazing value and yes they're built really nicely with a satisfying footswitch.

Hmm, tempting. I’ve recently acquired an MXR EF and love it. Will ponder this, please don’t hesitate should a buyer come forward though!

  7. Thanks for that, good to hear. Will also keep an eye out for one on here I think and try it out! Nothing to lose if you can get one for £50! I do like the TC minis anyway and have had a good experience of them so far.

  8. I’d highly recommend the Rumble 210 cab. It’s actually great. I bought one as an extension to my R800 combo, and yeah, it’s a genuinely solid cab. Great build and look, excellent handles, decent tweeter and deep, loud and clear. Good with a low B, good with effects.
I got mine about a month ago and there weren’t any more available in Europe for a while. Though, there’s a couple on here for £250ish, which if you’re local too, I’d suggest can’t be beaten for that money.

  9. Interested to see you mention floor noise @ped, I’ve had many compressors too, and this always bugged me. I was going to try an M87 or Spectracomp next, both of which have very mixed reviews on the subject.

  10. Really saddened to hear this. I’d met Nick twice over the last decade or so, as we traded P basses on 2 occasions.
We’d go for coffee after and he was an incredibly warm and passionate guy with a wealth of knowledge on all things bass.
If his family do end up on here, he was a wonderful person and his input and presence here was valued by all. Though my meetings with Nick were few he definitely left an impression. I’m so sorry for your loss.

They are plenty close enough parameter-wise to work well together, don't overthink it (in this case at least).

Much appreciated. Yeah, that’s where I’d landed. They’re not going to be worlds apart, in a similar enough enclosure, that I’m going to crack on with it.

  12. Recently bought a Rumble 800 combo, which has neo Eminence 10”s. The ext cab has the ceramic Eminence 10”s. Not sure if the speakers differ other than that, hard to tell from the info at hand. I’d like to get an extension cab, other than subtle differences in how they sound, any reason not to?
