Very nice indeed. I've always gone back to Stingrays. Current core main basses both from '89

It's funny how basses get a specific smell.
I have had a few nitro finished basses (excellent instruments and naming no names) that gave off the aroma of old socks. They were very funky basses though, mind... -
Reactivation and a bump with trade ideas for my very nice ungigged DB112.
After something to be twangier through essentially... -
Absolutely gorgeous bass but unfortunately not for me... I'll tweak my ad to say that I'm more after an 80s Status.

I'm seriously considering seeing Martin when he plays in lichfield in September but I'm just wondering what the band format will be because if it's just him on an acoustic guitar I'm not interested. I want to see and hear him on electric bass.
Pretty sure it's a solo performance so will be acoustic guitar...no full band or bass playing I expect.- 1

Love Prefab Sprout and Martin's playing. Appetite is (for me) such a great understated baseline, along with the outro of When Love Breaks Down.
Yep - his bass playing is very unusual. The bass is fundamental to how the music sounds; lots of interesting pedals/suspensions/inversions. They always were a cut above, the Sprouts.
And the early stuff is bonkers, in a very good way. Stingray ahoy...

You were the other account that got locked that I alluded to up the thread a bit (didn't want to name names!)
No, that is a different sort of thing, we have had a couple of those recently, that was just an attempt at spam, this was something by a person more targeted and specific.
Sadly if he has been successful in some way I would suspect that he may be back to try again.
If people can be vigilant, and report anything suspicious, and avoid any adverts insisting on F&F PayPal that they don't know, this would help
@woodinblack
Many thanks!
First time for me to have someone trying to hack my BC account... -
Not sure if anyone else experienced this but I had two automated messages last night from [email protected] saying several attempts had been made to access my account.

Thanks all - the ideal is equidistant between the band mates which is in that sort of Orpington-esque area, maybe a bit further around the M25 anti-clockwise. Seems a bit of blank space as far as rehearse; spaces go. But if anyone has any ideas in that zone, do let me know!

Thanks all. Looks like Abbey Wood is having to close which is a shame. Shall investigate!

(thought this might be better as a new post under a specific title, sorry about bumping the one below)
Any recommendations for a nice studio space to the SE of London/NW fringes of Kent? Somewhere with good backline/PA/parking?
Like Ritz in Putney but SE, ideally. Not sure it exists but on the lookout for a nice place to make noise between Kent and SE London...
Hoping to accommodate band members who are a bit, erm, spread out -

ON HOLD
Price drop to £95
Up for sale is my series V Trace AH250.
In decent nick with all buttons working (and functioning blacklight). The enclosure is a bit cosmetically challenged (but not too bad given its age)
Pick up or meet up nearish as it weighs a fair bit. All worth it though if you want that chunky Trace SS tone.

As money is clearly not swishing around the economy with the abandon it once did here are some trade/part ex thoughts.
trade for a Ric 4001/3/AVRI jazz/Geddy jazz
part ex for a cheaper guitar plus 1k on top or so.
Cheers, N
