yeah if i had a roadie i would have a big amp, i like to feel the breeze of the bass around my ankles.

Ha! of course, this thing is usually on 3 and its a trouser shaker!

Great looking set-up there, Bill, and I`m sure it sounds even better than it looks - assuming that is possible of course.

Cheers! It does sound fantastic, will have to dig out a clip where it shows its tone on a live gig situation!

looks good wouldnt fancy lugging it around though.

Haha! right? Thankfully i have a tech that sets up this beast, the amp i lug around at home on smaller local shows is an Aguilar SL410! lightest cab ever! :-)

  4. Hi Basschat,

The reason i purchased this bit of kit was through Janek Gwizdala who highly recommended it on one of his youtube VLOG's, have started filming a few live gigs with it, and the video and sound quality is actually great!

Anyone else been using the Hero 5 Session?

Nice work! I have a Mooer Tender Octaver which is essentially a tiny MicroPOG clone, I love playing fake guitar through it. If you want to go FULL fat though, get the HOG2 with the additional preset and expression pedals. You can have a preset that adds a 5th up, use the filter as a wah, drone a background note or chord, all kinds of crazy stuff!

Oh cool, yes i believe i've played through the Mooer before, my friend has one, its great.. may have to get one! love the size of it.

Cheers Bill - I'm really hoping it will go to a good home soon - Jon's work is outstanding, and I was so impressed with this one that I got him to do a bespoke bass for me based upon it. Thanks again. David

If i hadn't just received a new boutique looking 5-string i would be tempted, i grew up around a bass player that had 3 Shukers, and i'd watch him play these basses every week on gigs etc, so i know exactly how incredible they sound! again GLWTS.

Isle of Wight dude. We played it too. Saw Rory in Sainsbury too, he got mobbed! But was a really cool guy.

The turquoise one looks ace... Soon as my Sadowsky is paid for, I'm on it 😂

Oh cool! that was a nice festival! was on a flight to L.A a few months ago and it popped up on the Movie section?! was very surprised, but was good to watch back and hear how it came out! who were you playing with? i might of seen you!

Yeah he cant hide! he always gets mobbed, haha.

  8. Hi guys - thought i would share this recent photo of my rig - am using a Fender Bassman 800 and 8x10 cab! its very smooth and punchy! anyone else using these or had any experience with them?

@Bill have you gone off the micro Pog or any POg for solo’s then?

No not at all - I still use the POG for solo's but as an all-round great octave pedal the BOSS OC-2 wins for me, the low octave on the POG doesnt seem to be as tight as the BOSS, its a bit washy, but the high octave is killing obviously :-)

I tried some at the LBGS. I really liked the one I played, it was a really thin bodied Jazz bass. The guys seemed cool, too. Yours looks lovely, enjoy.

Yes that was the first time i'd played the basses too, very versatile tone wise and the build quality is lovely! Friendly team aswell i agree!

Good skills dude, the vibe is great! The 8va really brings the lines to life. Are you using a Micro POG or the full fat version?

Thanks mate, its just the standard Micro POG with the high octave cranked! Definitely looking into the full fat version though... i guess i was trialing the Smaller version to see how i got on with it!

    That sounds killer!

Thanks man - we do a few TV things here and there and its always a gamble to how its gonna turn-out when its a live broadcast mix, but this was a pre-record and it definitely got a nice place in the mix along with the drums!
