1. Yep, 4xKT88, the amp is LOUD!! !! Very toneful and great definition and depth. Amazed he hasn't had more interest in his work, pretty good rep from gee-tarists, but almost unknown as a Bass Amp figure. Pretty limited target audience tho- with all the great micro-heads and such...
2. RIP Mr. Babbit. Shocked to hear.
3.
looks heavy
Not too bad; head about 40 lbs, cab about 70. Good thing it's on wheels! Better than having Volkswagen across the front of it LOL! True that! Oooooo gorgeous!! love it!!! Thanks, this Amp sounds like Tube Heaven, really. http://www.jaguaramp...n.com/amps.html Henry is a Bassist himself who designed this to be a recreation of a BlueLine SVT- Actually did better IMO, it has the tone that only tubes can reproduce and KT88's do the job! The Celestion TruVox drivers are awesome (Made in England- what else to expect??)
4. Couple of twists on the Fender Jazz- The 2nd (Trussart) is made of metal! Perforated steel, and it thumps! Looks pretty kewl in person! The Slant 4 is by Michael Stevens, the first luthier of the Fender Custom Shop- He built an exact replica from the original "Blackie" Strat which sold for a ton of money at auction. He's actually a Bassist himself, and the Slant is his J-Bass, winds the pups himself, etc. Best passive bass ever; took almost 2 years to get, but worth the wait.
5. Thanks Gents... Hear there's a bit of rain! We could use some rain here, actually! Weather is fine; but all too dry. Other than that, Summer is full-on; time to line up some gigs!
6. A STEVENS Slant 4: And a James Trussart STEELCASTER Bass.. Something you don't see everyday, huh??
7. Thank You, nice to be here in Spirit anyway! How's the Weather?
8. No affiliation with the Company, had this amp built for me a few years back after meeting/talking with the owner at NAMM: 4xKT88's 4x10 Celestion-loaded cab. Whaddya think?
9. Hello from the 'burbs of Los Angeles California USA. Saw & liked BassChat, joined up to reply to a certain topic. Me- Playing for quite some time; I keep getting better & better. Like Old/New School R&B/Soul/Funk/Jazz/Blues/Soul and of course RnR. Favorite players include Jamerson, Rainey, Eddie Gomez, Buster WIlliams, many others. Gear? Lots. 1969 P-Bass G&L SB-2 Henman-Bevalaqua B4 STEVENS SLANT 4 Ampeg B15R ThunderFunk 750A w/ Bergantino HS12 Gk MB Fusion w/ Schroeder PL212 JAGUAR 200 (4xKT88 w/ 410 Celestion loaded cab.) You would not believe this amp! Other than that, I would like to say that I've been to England 2X; once focused on London, probably the World's coolest city, and once agin mainly touring the South and Wales. Also Ireland, from Dublin to Waterford, and many points in between. My Father (RIP) was stationed in England and Irelnad during WWII, told me how English troops they were working with stopped Battle for teatime; also said that English Special Forces of some kind were the baddest *&&^%$ he'd ever seen. My experience there was the BEST; the people were the best, the culture civilization, the history, the countryside, the City-- WOW. Loved it. Very interesting to listen in on bass-related posts from Overseas. Cheers all, and keep it in-the-pocket.
10. Hello- Found this Forum/Thread while sufing; Registered from across the pond to chime in. I played this bass a few hours ago, and love it. Of course it's overpriced, but now that it's a discontinued model, I have an very good price put forward on the table from a CS Dealer. I may take the leap. I have an also-discontinued Gretsch SpectraSonic Bass with TV Jones Thundertron pups; the're awesome. This (FCS Borracho) is certainly a take-it-or-leave it thing; like a Rolex watch, the FCS is Grail to some, over-priced/over-hyped stuff to others. I totally dig this bass, and agree with Billapple above who tried it recently. Great feel; great tone, even unplugged. Played it through a vintage B15 as well, and WOW. For me, all it needed was the bridge lowered, and maybe a lighter-gauge string set., otherwise... For my Old/New School R&B, it would make Joss Stone and Shemekia stop and take notice, and make Etta (RIP) smile in the heavens. KILLER Instrument, I've paid as much for Sadowsky's Laklands, there's 'Wicks even more, on and on. You either get/want this bass... Or not. I get it, I want it. BTW; both times I've visited England and a little of Wales, Ireland too- Absolutely wonderful. London is the most exciting/awesome City I can Imagine, liked it much better than Paris, Rome, etc. Southern England-So beautiful. Ireland- Dublin 2nd only to London. The people were the BEST, can't wait to get back there again (from Sunny SoCalifornia, my home). Maybe this time I can check out some bass gear- only saw some instruments at Harrod's while my girl shopped- meh- I mean some REAL Bass shops, instead of all that amazing history and castles and such!! (-: Cheers- (Oh, beer and ale GREAT, food- Well... if any of you get to El-Lay. drop me a line; I'll show you how Good Food is done)! (Taco Trucks!)
