I really love it narrow like that.  I think 15mm spacing on the ebmm would feel about the same as this, and I can't wait to try one in a store one day long from now.  What really matters most to me is that the total string distance from first to last string is sort of similar from bass to bass.  6 string?  really narrow.  5 strings?  16.5 or 17mm.  4 strings?  18 or 19mm.  It just makes it easier to switch between them for me.

My first custom bass, an Alpher Mako 5-string, had a string spacing at the bridge that was just over 15mm - it was the best playing bass I've ever held and my next one will absolutely be similar.

I've had a rare opportunity to consolidate some cash and buy something I've wanted for ages, so I'm putting this up for sale (even though I just bought it!).

Apparently, these were only made for a year during the late nineties but there is some good information here if you're interested. It's a great example with fairly minimal wear however there are some visible marks and nicks along the edge of the neck and the plastic on top of the pickup is curling away (which apparently is fairly common) but I don't mind it as it makes it easier to root my thumb to the pickup.  Electronics all work fine and the truss rod turns without issue. Tuners are in great condition too.

Price is £545 and am happy for buyer to arrange courier, or it can be picked up from Birmingham. If couriered, it will be very well packaged. Payment by Bank Transfer or cash only please.

I thought you'd enjoy some pics of two basses that arrived to me from a very loving home :). 

I originally had my eye on the Squier Musicmaster as I'd never owned a short scale before. Apparently only produced for one year in 1997 but please correct me if I'm wrong. All I can say is that I now completely understand why people adore short scale basses. Even without the beautiful thump from the single coil, it's just fantastic to play. It's in good condition considering it's age and it's even got a bit of birdseye in the neck! 

The second bass is a Fender Modern Player Telecaster. They're fairly new (as far as Fenders go) but it's really quite nice. The pickups really standout and they're super versatile. The mudbucker by itself is my favoruite though. 

I may be tempted to sell them at some point but for now, enjoy the pics!

Purchased recently after loving a recently-sold Squier P-bass but this isn't getting used at all so it's got to go! Specs are below pics and the only real damage is some slight indents on the back edge of the headstock (which I've tried my best to photograph). It was £160 shipped. I perhaps could have waited for a cheaper one but it felt right...

I always hesitate to put flats on active basses but this one's a bit of a spare at the moment so I might have to give it a go.

I got round to taking some nice(r) pictures in the garden. I do love the colour and the gold hardware really 'sets it off' (in my humble opinion)  

The Squier's are great and a lot of people speak highly of the Vintage V4 so I think you'd be happy with either.

There may be other alternatives but let us know your budget and what music you're likely to be playing/your inspirations and I'm sure other members will have some great ideas.

Thought I'd share some pictures of my recently-purchased Yamaha RBX765A! I've always had a thing for Yamaha so I had to take a punt when this one came up for sale at a good price. 

It's got an alder body with a lovely Ash top (I tried to capture some of the figuring in the photos) and a maple neck. The electronics are awesome and I love that the bridge pickup isn't tinny or weak - it stands up by itself easily. As a bonus, it's had Hipshot Ultralite tuners fitted and has recently been setup so it plays beautifully. 

Not too sure if I'll be holding onto it but for now, enjoy the pics! 

Lovely bass, seems stupidly cheap for a luthier-built neck thru!

For sale is my Ibanez SR506. This is an early example that features a push-pull pot on the volume to switch between active and passive and a push-pull pot on the mid control to select mid frequency. Other than that, it's very similar to the current day model and is an absolute beast! 

The bass has recently been cleaned and restrung with Ernie Balls (that currently have about 5 minutes of play time on them!). There are plenty of age related marks and a slight crack near the 6th string tuning peg. This crack doesn't effect the tuning or neck at all and I've been td that it's very unlikely to effect the bass in the future (unless dropped from a small height) :). 

I've tried to capture the various dents and marks in pictures but otherwise it plays brilliantly and the electronics all work perfectly fine. 

Padded Fender case included. Happy to courier at buyer's risk (will ensure adequate packing). Also happy to consider trades.

It's possibly a ReBop or a Eurobolt if it's definitely made in Czech republic. Any pics?

Without knowing what it is for sure.... and the condition etc it's impossible to know whether the price is good. There is a Eurobolt on ebay at the moment for the same kind of price if that helps...?

 

Ah, that makes sense. I've been told it's Czech made and I trust the person when they say the condition is 9/10.  

Hi all, got a question about a possible purchase that I'm hoping some wonderful Spector-owner can answer!

I've been offered a Euro 4 LX (bolt on, with Aguilar pickups) for £925. Seems like a good condition instrument but I'm find it hard to see previous examples online or find good sound samples. Given the good condition, can anyone advise on whether or not it's worth trying to haggle? My gut feeling is that it's a very fair price but I thought I'd check with those more knowledgeable than me first.  

I've got the 5-string version of this and it's absolutely awesome. Good luck with the sale!
