  1. Yeah, the early bridges don’t have intonation screws, but are adjustable, there is just a bit of a knack to doing it. Once you set and lock it, they rarely need adjusting thought.
they don’t make the Spector 5’s light either, mine weighs in just over 5kg, but I don’t use it live so it’s nonissue for me at the moment. I’d love the new euro classic 5 though!!!

the tiger eye looks killer too!

Does this bass have a thinner neck than the 2005 Euro LX?

I believe the neck profile is the same on the new euro models as they always have been, at least on the 4 string models.
the Wimbish model has a narrower nut, but that’s the only model that has this. The Ian hill as a thinner neck (front to back) than standard, but otherwise I believe they are all the same give or take. I find the gloss necks always feel a little thicker to me.
@cetera May be able to answer more accurately than me.

  3. @cetera If it’s a legend custom, don’t these come with a 3 band eq??

In my experience, the lower end emg preamps are always lacking with passive pickups. The emg bqc is a great alternative, or possibly even go a tonepump? You will certainly not be looking for bass with a tonepump lol....

someone in this parish might have a spare or two 😉

  4. I just wanted to leave some feedback for Chris, as he is an absolute gent.

I was looking to buy a flight case to ship to someone I was buying a bass off, and he kindly offered to let me “hire” his, and was even going to Make all the courier arrangement. It just worked out slight too expensive with the return shipping of the case back to Chris so went another way.

    thanks again for trying Chris!

Hi all, got a question about a possible purchase that I'm hoping some wonderful Spector-owner can answer!

I've been offered a Euro 4 LX (bolt on, with Aguilar pickups) for £925. Seems like a good condition instrument but I'm find it hard to see previous examples online or find good sound samples. Given the good condition, can anyone advise on whether or not it's worth trying to haggle? My gut feeling is that it's a very fair price but I thought I'd check with those more knowledgeable than me first. :)

Is that the one currently on eBay?? Tobacco burst bolt on with pj pickups?

  6. Saw this pop on eBay yesterday mate, this has to be one of the nicest spectors ive ever seen. That green is always stunning, but with the quilt it truly is spectacular!! The fact it has TW’s just makes it extra special 😄

good luck with the sale mate, im sure it won’t stick around long!!

Really pleased for you mate, it really is a stunning bass and I did struggle to put it back on the rack.
Let me know if you ever decide to sell it 😄

The 77 really is amazing. Not only is the neck great but also the DiMarzio pickup has some serious oomph. What a killer sound. I think I mentioned in another thread that it is like a P bass on steroids. Definitely a keeper bass for me. Although, I also said that many times for other basses that are not with me anymore 😉

Dimarzios are awesome. I have them in my Euro 4 with the tonepump and it’s awesome.
anyways, sorry for the thread hijack 😂
