1. It could make some girl verry happy
2. Nope can't say I know them, but than again there are somany bands around and you can't know them all. But you never know, perhaps in future times. The genre we were in isn't the same as we now, happily, ended up in...
Hallo! Welcome! Have you heard of a band called The 925s? Good mates of mine, doing well in the Netherlands!
3. Yep the Hevos is one h#*l of an amp, really honest and clear yet warm thanks too the tube pre-amp
4. Hi Folks, After snooping arround, a post once in a while, I thought it might be polite too introduce myself, sorry for my manners. My name is Aljan, a bassist from the Netherlands. Style-wise I've been kind of a Cameleon, started with a grunge band back in the days. Heavilly influenced by RATM started experimenting with Hip-Hop, Funk and Jazz crossover, witch resulted in a near fulltime bassplaying period. Shortly after finishing the full lenght album and winning a publics choice award in a National band contest, we(guitarist, drummer and I) decided to start doing what we love doing, rock! I play a 2003 Fender P(I bought from SebPayne) but am still looking for that mojo P-bass, but sadly I have too work my a#! off so I guess I'll have too keep saving. My amp is a Hevos 400B (dutch company) a 400 watts hybrid, that I love, combined with an SWR Golliath JR an a Son of Bertha, I've found the blend between warmth and clarity I love. What's left? ehm... I'm a pretty fantastic kind of guy, very modest and always in for a laugh and a bass chat. Best wishes and till next time, Aljan
5. That H2 sounds like a good solution, but can it cope with louder volume that comes with "rock" music. I'm a bit scared that it will distort when confronted with my deaf bandmembers. I'll have a look at Audacity tonight, carrying the laoptop isn't the problem, we'll be leaving it at our rehearsel room, copy paste too everybodies USB-stick and work/rehearse at home. Main thing is that it's simple. Thanks and if anyone has other alternatives please let me know, the more the marrier. Aljan
6. Please forgive my spelling and grammar, I'm dutch so I hope you'll bare with me. I've tried getting an answer on the dutch version of Basschat, but that seemed to result in a lot off discussions instead of an answer. Our new band would love to record our sessions, too take home and work with afterwards. Record then copy too a USB-stick(for instance) that's it... or so it seems, but no luck yet. So far we have been using three types of recording methods: 1. Two mics into a mixer, into a analoge recorder and converting it in q-base. An enormous hassle. 2. The same mics into the mixer directly into a notebook, simple(just the way I like it) but horrible quality. 3. The easiest yet, our mobile phones, didn't sound as bad as the second method, but that's mostly because of the windows standard recording quality I think. I've bought a Creative Audigy external soundcard for the notebook and would like to try the following: Two mics into the mixer, run it into the soundcard/notebook and record. should be the easy way right? But all those recording programs seem to need a degree in software-watchamacallit, are there programs that records without all kinds of parameters? Off course some settings adjustments are welcome. A simple way of recording with decent quality, or am I asking for too much. Best wishes Aljan
7. Is it the one on ebay? Looks like a hell of a bass, I myself have a Streamer stage II, five string, bubinga(body) and wenge(neck), Warwick just has that certain something other basses don't have. Either you love it or hate it. One tip, if you can then play on it. Before I bought my SSII, I could testdrive one at a fellow bassplayer nearby. I tested the Streamer Stage II and fell in love. He also had a Streamer LX(both were fivers) and I fiddled on that too, I can understand when some people talk about chunky necks. NOT that it was huge but the SSII has sort of a half rounded neck and the LX was fully rounded(I hope you get what I'm saying) and I prefer the half rounded. PREFERENCE is the magic word what works for you might not work for me. There is a difference in types of necks, what comes with every type of Streamer, I don't know. If you don't know what type of neck it has maybe you could ask the selller or at the warwick forum.
8. First actual post, I think. I'm a 31'er, playing bass for 15 years now. Nearly quit two times, same reasons: I can't work with arrogant f@#kers. I've been playing a heap load of styles, Rock/Grunge, Hip hop, funk, Jazz, but preferably all mixed and crossedover Oh before I forget, I'm from Holland so please forgive the spelling and grammar every now and then. Mainly I'm a fingerstyle player that loves to dig in deep, yes I give my baby a hard time. The baby is a Warwick SSII 5-er '91 and will never leave my site
9. Good day, It seemed more than decent to introduce oneselve, but what to say... Well I love playing bass, a couple of months ago I bought a '91 Warwick Streamer Stage II fiver, something I should have done years ago, I love that bass. Used to play in a HipHop/Funk/Rock band, which did really well but in the end just couldn't satisfy our guitarplayer, drummer and myself. We quit and started jammin in our rehearsal room and it started to pay off immediately...the passion is back. Next stop gigging, but first one heck of a set. The rest, well we wil see right? Oh before I forget, I'm from the Netherlands, which some of you might have spotted due to my spelling/grammar but I'l give it my best Best wishes
