  1. The main difference in my opinion is that you get a lot more time wasters and tyre kickers on Facebook than anything else. I've cleared a bit of gear recently, advertising here, gumtree and fb and and it has mostly sold through facebook so it seems to be the preferred method at the moment but you do get a lot more enquiries that lead to nothing.

  2. I have had the bugera for a couple of weeks now and have to say Im really impressed. I have used it at home and at 2 rehearsals (first gig on 31st) and it is a quality amp especially for the money. So for £178 essentially half the price of a 2nd hand equivelant powered amp (OBT, genz streamliner, mark bass etc.) With warranty feels like a bargain.

I've got it paired with a barefaced 2Ten and haven't had to push it passed 9 oclock to keep up with the band. Great warm tones from the valves which gets dirty if you push the gain but not as aggressive as my old obt. The preamp volume is a nice touch and makes it more usable at home. I pushed the treble a bit to 3 oclock to get the tone I like but sounds good with everything set flat. Only minor criticism is that the mid boat doesn't do much to my ears but that is me being picky.

All in all it's a bargain a d the band seem to like it too.

The galloping bit makes more sense if you break it down into groups of 3 notes

Play the pattern in bars 1 to 6

then repeat starting 8 frets higher [Major 6th]  C

    Repeat the same pattern

then a move a Major 6th again. this time go down [4 frets] to Ab and repeat the same pattern

Those are the notes, not necessarily where you play them, some of them are an octave lower

That’s the pattern, hopefully that makes sense, and will help to get your head around it.

Thanks for the help your explanation makes sense. Rehearsed it for the first time on thurs and it went ok. Getting there with it.

  4. Peavey headliner 210 bass cab for sale. Very good cab especially for the money and in very good condition. 400 watts at 8 ohm.

I bought this as a stop gap while looking for a barefaced cab which I have now bought and this now needs a new home.

Any trials welcome in Downend in Bristol. Price is firm and cash on collection massively preferred due to weight and the fact I'll need to find a box big enough to post. Any questions please let me know.

Sounds like it could be right up my street then......... Again, not helping with GAS though! I was just wondering what it might be like because no where in London seems to have it in stock and getting to Andertons and back is a 5hr journey.

I find neck preference a bit if a weird one though. I totally get liking different necks but I love the wide and flat neck of my 4003 as much as my thin and deep epi tbird....... I don't get it 🤔

Give PMT a call they have them in stock and got one to Bristol for me which came for another branch. They should be able to get one to the London shop for you.

  6. I know we all like specific measurement on here but I'd say it's just a very nice neck. It feels like a Jazz neck, Slim but it has some depth to it. It felt a lot nicer to my hands in the shop than a mexican Jazz I tried but it's all pretty personal isn't it!

  7. About 40 of the buggers at the moment for a new band. First rehearsal on Thurs first gig at the end of the month. Knights of Cydonia is proving to be a pain as the chord sequence at the start has no logical order in my mind but getting there through repetition. Also that arpeggio tapping bit (which I know is synth really) is a challenge for me.

  8. Ashdown MAG250 tweed look bass combo amp for sale.  Built in 12 inch speaker and Max power of 300 watts at 4ohm.  Built in overdrive and compression functions and 5 band eq.

Very nice looking and sounding  amp and pretty much mint condition as it has only left my house once since I have owned it and never gigged.  Bought new from PMT just over a year ago.

Only selling as I've joined a new band and bought something with more power.

Any trials welcome and cash on collection preferred as it is quite heavey I may be able to deliver/meet up in a sensible distance of Bristol. Postage considered at buyers cost and risk.

I would trade for a Barefaced Compact, Super Compact or 2Ten with cash you way or possibly a small practice amp plus cash to me.

Any questions please let me know.

  9. Essentially what it says in the title. I've read the logic about why it is 12 ohm or 4 ohm for the modular set up and not after a technical answer  but I'm after this very much as a layman.

If you use a single 2Ten how much difference can you actually hear with it set to 12 ohm rather than 4 ohm.

It is a frugal question based on if I should consider an older 12 ohm model on it's own as they tend to be cheaper.

  10. I will post once I've had a proper go with it. Stupidly sold my old OBT & BF compact rig a year ago as hadn't been gigging. Now I've joined a new band I want something similar again. I loved the OBT but the tone is a bit limited so was very tempted by the valvyness of these. Cheers for the recommendation but at that price and with 30 days to return it feels a fairly safe bet!

I've just got to replace the barefaced now!

  11. Oops on your recommendation I've just clicked buy! Should be here tomorrow. I've also got a peavey mini max coming in from thomann so will be good to compare. As I see it you can get 2 new class d heads with warranty for less than a lot of the competitors 2nd hand prices e.g. £350 2nd hand for an OBT Genz streamliner etc.
