any idea about the weight of that one?
I’ll get a rough weight & amend the thread hopefully today or tomorrow.
You are welcome to try it out. Are you anywhere near me?- 1

Thanks, would love to give it a whirl but I'm at the wrong end of the country sadly.
Ok mate, no problem. Would you like me to get an accurate weight & look into a cost for sending the bass? Or was it just a general question regarding the weight?
Cheers

What's the weight of this beaut ?
Hi, I think it’s approximately 10lbs if memory serves me right.
Your more than welcome to try it out. I think most 70s P basses that are made from ash are around the 10lb mark.

That looks like one heck of a collection
There not all mine mate! Just 4 of them out of the 18 basses that were there. There’s no way I could hide that lot from the missus 😉

SOLD
Fender USA Precision bass in sunburst with maple neck. The serial number puts it at 1977 or 78.
It’s in absolutely fantastic condition, comes with the ashtrays as pictured. These came with the bass when I bought it a few years back, The original owner was an old fella who was retiring some of his basses from his collection. I believe it is all original but if anyone wants to take it apart & check for themselves before parting with any money then that’s absolutely fine.
This particular one I’d say is a good 9.5 out of 10 for condition.
I’ll upload some more pictures when I get a chance but here’s one from 2 weeks ago at the Newcastle impromptu bass bash.
Thanks once again to Michael (water of Tyne) for the photograph!
I’m in North Shields, Tyne & Wear.
Price is £1950
Any questions ask awayCheers

SOLD PENDING PAYMENT
PRICE DROP TO £1850Please note that the case pictured is now not available but I can supply a nice gig bag or hard case.
Here is my Fender USA Precision Bass 1978-81.
1978-81 Vintage fender precision bass in great condition
Ash body & maple neck
According to info I have found regarding the date the bass was made here are the details
Your guitar was made at the
Fullerton Plant (Fender - CBS Era), USA in 1978 - 1981
Production Number: 9005
Comes with hang tags, please note that the case pictured is not included. Please also note that the previous owner has changed the strap buttons & the original ones didn’t come with the bass when I bought it.
The previous owner bought it from bass direct & I have owned this bass around 5 or 6 years.
It’s in fantastic condition & really has to be seen to be appreciated.
I took it to a bass gathering a while back & it got some favorable comments
Price is £1950
I’m not really after trades at the moment.
More pictures are available If anyone wants a particular shotBig thanks to Michael aka “water of tyne” for the main photo!
I’d prefer cash on collection so the bass can be tried out but I maybe willing to post or maybe meet half way with potential buyers.I have lots of positive feedback on here & been a member for over 10 years.
Any questions fire away!

Was a great few hours. Some lovely basses amongst that lot. They all did sound different in one way or another. After yesterday’s get together I’m gonna be selling two of mine that are pictured as I really fancy a vintage stingray now!
That’s cd_davids fault!- 5

Got a can of LPB nitro from Northwestguitars and just did a scuff finish coat over the existing sunburst with 400 grade paper which was too rough, should have gone with 800. Did 6 ish coats and then about the same of clear coat. Used tinted amber for the neck 6-8 coats, then clear over that too. Nitro is quite forgiving: any small errors get righted by the next coat which melts into it, luckily for me...!
Hi, do you have any pictures of you LPB 50s bass? I maybe buying one of these to do up. I've had one before, I refinished the neck, reshaped the headstock, put a cheeky logo on & had a pickguard made which was an exact copy of the black guard it comes with as stock.
It was a great bass for the money.
Thanks!

I got in touch with "Ron" the seller of the bass & He was kind enough to forward me some pictures as I was interested (I would of been had it had a rosewood board!)
I can only presume he may of had some difficulty in uploading them to the for sale thread.
Hope this helps & Ron doesn't mind me trying to help out.

Bought some gear from Pawel & as usual all good stuff.
He’s a credit to the basschat community!

Bought a set of set of La Bellas from Brian. They arrived as described & we exchanged a few friendly emails.

For info, there's an interesting topic on this subject over at Talkbass, here...
Fender Bassman 135 speaker connections (ohm matching) ...
... with some important information, and a pretty complete run-down on the possibilities.
Hope this helps; good luck with the sale. These are really splendid amps, and much desired by guitar players, too..!
Thanks for that info mate, it should be helpful to any interested buyers 👍🏻
