1. Hey there, I'll take some Zubrowka vodka straight up if you're buying Simon.
 2. Just thought I'd say hi too - another geordie here Simon.
 3.
Ah.. it's rammed here, and will be all day, but can't help thinking 20% of the people are despondent bass players...
Thanks for the heads-up, will give it a miss! Simon.
 4.
leeds is awesome. whereabouts did you live? headingley? (as good a guess as any)
I lived in Devon Road, which is very close to the university - about five minutes walk from the Parkinson steps... I miss it from time to time, such a great place Simon.
 5. Hi there, I spent three years in Leeds (at uni) and loved it there... Biscuits/cakes/tea are all great in my book Simon.
 6. Hey there and welcome from a fellow Northerner - I joined fairly recently myself Si.
 7.
Si can't be from Blyth... I'm the only bass player in this village
Ask Myfanwy, she'll put you right Si.
 8.
Areet Si, Do you play in a band or owt?
Nah, no bands. Would be cool like, I've spent many an hour jamming with a good drummer. Maybe some day Si.
 9. I'm just up the road, in Blyth (although I think I said I was from Newcastle when I introduced myself here - doesn't require explaning where I live!). Si.
 10. Hey there, just recently joined myself. Went to uni in Leeds, cracking city! Zender is indeed a great bassist Si.
 11. I was looking at a similar thread over at TalkBass, seems they're getting a SR-535 over there in the US... She's sure purrty Si.
 12.
welcome dude, i'm going back up to uni in the toon this september, what band(s) do/have you played in up there?
Actually, aside from jamming with mates off and on - which in itself was ages ago - I've not been in a band. Wouldn't mind looking into it though, perhaps once I finally learn to drive and have some transport Si.
 13.
The Geordie chapter have a new member woo hoo!
The Geordies have a 'chapter' eh?!
... and he's already talking GAS, he'll fit right in
I'm always GAS'ing - just rarely have the funds to act on my impulses Si.
 14.
Welcome aboard, bonny lad...
Cheers! I'm guessing from the nick you're a fellow geordie - or at least in the 'Toon Si.
 15. Hey, Just thought I'd introduce myself, names Simon and I've just hit the 30 mark. Been playing bass for around 10 years now with 80% of my time spent slapping the thing - can't stop grinning when I slap. Influences would include Stu Zender, Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, Tetsuo Sakurai, Paul Jackson. Music wise it's a mixed bag of 70's/80's jazz-funk and jazz-fusion with some more modern nu-jazz/i.d.m. Currently playing a Cort Artisan A4 (which I may sell to get funds for a new MIA Fender Jazz Standard) Si.
