Just out of interest what would postage cost….??
I'm away for the weekend, but will have a look on Monday. I think we're talking roughly £25 uninsured but can't remember how much that would be on top. I would also need to supply a hard case for the insurance to be valid. I'll come back to you.
Where are you located?

Is that a precisionish shaped body or is it just a lens effect (Great looking bass regardless!)?
Thanks! No, it's an standard Jazz body shape....must be the angles!

Saw them in October '77 at the Top Rank, Cardiff. They were quite awesome as was the support, the Dictators. There was a comedian, Johnny Rubbish, sandwiched in between the two bands. He only managed one line: "I hear you Welsh can't play rugby..." before making a hasty and early exit.

I have for sale my Limelight '64 Jazz in Candy Apple Red and what Classic and Cool describe as a "medium relic". Per the C&C website, the bass features:
Gotoh reverse tuners
Aged Nitro-cellulose finished neck with Tusq nut, clay dots and hand rolled fingerboard edges with matching headstock
Alder body finished in nitro-cellulose Candy Aple Red over silver base coat.
Quality vintage bridge
CTS pots and Sprague cap
Vintage wired
Alnico Pick ups
Switchcraft jack
It has recently been serviced by Mormusic in York and everything works as it should. The bass is great to play and has the the full palette of sounds you would expect from a quality instrument.
Weight is (with the bathroom scales method) 9lb 10oz or 4.4Kg.
I would very much prefer a pick up/meet up to posting the bass. Photos are below, let me know if you'd like to see more.
Thanks for looking!
Price reduced to £795
Trades...outright sale preferred, but I might be interested in:
Bass VI,
An electric or electro acoustic guitar.

Just back in from my second gig of the weekend, this was a charity gig with the Wirebirds in Swindon. Not some abstract charity, but a fund raiser for a local chap in need of help. Great atmosphere, real family feeling. We played a similar event there a few years ago, and it had the same vibe. Great to be playing with our own drummer again, as last few gigs he has been on holiday. Real power trio stuff, great fun and a very refreshing after the discipline of playing in a six piece last night.
Two down, one to go, with the six piece in Oxford tomorrow. I really hope we aren't on too late as I am proper tired already!
Admiring your stamina Dave!

Met up with Nik (or rather, he kindly came and met Mrs H and me in our holiday hotel) for some gear trading. As always, Nik was a gent and great company - we had a good chat around matters bass and other important issues over a pint.
To the next time Nik! 😂

Indeed, though looks like my legs have vanished! Must have gone for levitating instead.

Another open air gig yesterday at a festival in York. Stage seemed huge compared with what we are used to. Nice to have a pro SE and event was well organised. We went down well and have been "pencilled in for next year".
We all enjoyed it, though were a bit by bothered by some brief low frequency humming. Probably me...

Does look nice.
Dave
Thanks! Looks great, sounds great to my ears and balances better than any other bass I've owned.

Interesting bass there @howdenspur. Is that a Fender Elite ?
Dave
Thanks Dave. No, it's a Fernandes FPM-80 from around 1981 (similar era to the Elites?). Think I was soloing the neck P most of the time, but the bridge provides an extra cutting edge.

As @Marvin said, it depends on the bass. I've just bought a pink Squier VI and it's truly beautiful, but I don't think an Alembic (for example) would work in that colour.
The only finish that's a definite no from me is silverburst - it's unforgivable.
This describes my view I think, though my view of what suits was probably conditioned by the finishes traditionally offered. My"unforgivable" finish is Antigua🙂.

Thanks for the tip, just ordered one👍!

Looks very nice! Also looks like Mark is prepared to go a bit more bespoke than I'd assumed. Think the most off-piste bass I've seen him do was the P with an MM pickup instead of the split coil.
