  1. Have a free bump mate. I am a big fan of MTD. My favourite bass is actually a 2001 Kingston Artist 5 modded with USA bart pup and preamp. Amazing playability. This is a real steal and some1 will get a lot of bass for £295.
  2. Ben (Harrisonian91) is a new member of this forum (as myself) and it was a pleasure to do bussiness with him. He bought my Yamaha TRB5II. Prompt payment and excellent communication. Trade with confidence.
  3. I am quite familiar with the prices in States, most of my family lives there hence 95% of the gear I have I get overseas. If you go to places like www.basscentral.com (sort of like English thebassgallery) these basses for sometimes for even more than 3k US. If you are very patient (and lucky) you can get one of www.talkbass.com for about 2k. Nevertheless it's really hard to compare two markets, U.S. bass players are blessed with prices generally about 40% lower than bass chaps in UK. Your Bass is beautiful mate, I wish I had something worth trading. You said you got it last week....it seems like you don't have to get rid of it in a hurry....if I was you I would give it a little more time...there's nothing worse than second thoughts when it's too late....
  4. Mate you gotta register with a website like imageshack.us or photobucket etc. it's not very difficult just take some time. Or just send it over to me and I can post them for you. my e-mail [email protected]
  5. Hi there, Could you provide the serial number and string spacing? thank you.
  6. Got a bit nervous right before turning it on but it's working...and cost me 30p for a fuse....
  7. Big fan of GK here. I believe they switched to US made few months ago so you could probably check this out with the dealer. I've got 700RB-II as my main amp and MB200 as a back up/practice amp with 112Neo cab( soon adding second) and couldn't be happier. Single GK 112 Neo is 14kg 700RB-II is about 10 but you could always forget the bi amp option which comes with it and go for MB500/MB800/MBFusion which is something like 2kg.. That's an ultra light and great sounding rig. I am a new member on basschat.co.uk but been following www.talkbass.com for a long time, GK stuff (specially Neo 112) get a lot of love there, it's worth checking.
  8. Yes mate I think so. Inside the amp there are pins which need to be swapped. Each colour combination (for 100, 120, 230 & 240v) is clearly described. There's also an instruction regarding the main fuse which need to be replaced with "T4AH 250v semko" (whatever it means...). Thanks for the response I don't think I would actually find courage to open it up myself without your post even if it was missed a bit .
  9. Mate I opened up the lid and your photo does not match, nevertheless it seems to be quite straight forward, it's just few pins to place differently and a fuse to swap. I think I can handle it. I will post results when I am done...hopefully I won't burn this darn thing in order to save 20-30 quid...
  10. I've got myself a nice gift from my last family trip to Florida, used GK-700RB-II in excellent condition. I've already did a research and I know it is possible to convert the voltage to the UK standard. As a matter a fact the procedure is apparently very easy and will take a qualified electrician no more than 10 minutes but since I have absolutely no clue about these things I am not willing to take a risk and do it myself. I was wondering if any of you guys could recommend me someone who would be able to do this, quick and cheap. I live in London. Thanks in advance, Paul
  11. Apologies for pretty bad iphone pictures, but I hope it's enough to show that the bass is in pretty much mint condition. I've got some really nice shots from previous owner, unfortunately these are on my computer at work so I won't be able to access them until Monday.
  12. Back in UK bump. I am finally able to get more pictures, jet lag nap and I will try to post some.
  13. Not to hijack the thread but This bass has nothing to do with Michael Tobias but the name...
