Just had the fortune of playing through the Rumble 40 at Wunjo's on Denmark St. One word - incredible.

First things first it really does weigh nothing. It reminded me of the tiny 15 watt guitar combos my band used to practice with a decade ago, it was unbelievable.

The sound was impressive, the built in voicings (Vintage and Bright) were effective and allowed for tones that ranged from full on dub to slightly driven tube on the Vintage setting, and then a really nice slap tone with the bright switch engaged.

I didn't really play with the EQ because it sounded great flat, and the output seemed fine, although again i didn't push the master past halfway.

All in all, very impressive for the price, great tone, amazing look, and a crazy lightweight box.

EDIT: and after checking in with Ms Yellow I have just bought it :D

So, I went to the GAK Centre down in Brighton. You may remember I was thinking about a through-neck bass, either a Peavey Grind or a Washburn T24. From that you'd think I like modern design, subtle looks and natural wood finish.

So I came back with this...

My little boy likes it too!

A huge thank you to the team (especially James) down at GAK in North Road Brighton who let me play damn-near everything in the shop, even with my little boy in tow (He was as good as gold. Well, nearly. He certainly didn't touch or break anything.).

    +9, couldn't have picked a better bass.

It looks nice. Is it a neck through Epiphone I wonder?

Could be worth a go. Probably better than the modern 'real' thing?

It seems to be bolt on. (Bolt On IV's have the input jack on the face of the body, by the Tone & Volume pots)

    This seems too familiar.. :(

  4. Hi guys,

Anyone got one? & more specifically (being only 35 watts) can you use it for on-stage monitoring when DI'd?

The FX loop feature seems interesting, I could bypass the on board pre-amp & use my VT Bass.

    Thanks,
    Sam

I don't know how the 2014 T-Birds are, but I'm glad I did my 2014 SG Std. I like the 120th Anniversary 12th fret marker.

It looks good. If you haven't pulled the trigger on one, Drop The Hammer NOW!.

I'd have to sell all my body parts, then I couldn't really play bass anymore :(

I might start saving, though :)
