SOLD. I have a Ibanez GWB35, thats not getting used loads at the moment. EDIT: Will consider offers for a straight sale. Pics now added (scroll down the thread to see them!) Im looking for trades only, and for ideally a fretless 5 string jazz bass. I'm only interested in Fretless'. I'm not in a position to add any cash, but would consider a good instrument of lesser value. I'm ideally looking for a Fender Jazz 5 string fretless. Like i said, its not definite, but if people let me know what they've got and something grabs me, i'd probably be convinced. Cheers. Alex.

Just listed some strings and things on ebay - trying to scrape money together to buy a new amp. http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZbassy-alex In the name of gas please buy them If a basschatter buys both the sets of strings, i'll do free postage... Aj.

Cool... I was looking at the SWR 2x10 in the for sale section (200w 4ohms) because its quite local to me. Headwise, I've been offered an Ashdown ABM 500 EVO II at a good price, but am starting to think it might be a bit too pokey for the cab... what do people think? Alex.
-
Right, i dont really get the whole RMS, 8 ohms, 4 ohms etc thing, so be gentle Im buying a new head + cab. Ideally i want to get a 2x10. Thing is, they dont seem to have very high power handling capabilities. Looking around, most seem to have around 200w into 4ohms or 8ohms - where as the heads i've been looking at seem to be around double that (a couple on ebay...). Am i being stupid? I really just want/need the one cab at the moment... Cheers. Aj.
because its pointless?
Depends why your doing it... you dont have to have an octave pedal cranked up full all the time, you can have it rumbling along - really bodying out your sound, or just to add a bit extra to your sound in empty bits of tunes? Maybe you should buy this one and try it

When you say you'd end the auction early for a forum member... did you have a price in mind? Alex.
hi Alex sorry to hijack your thread, but i've just bought one of these and was wondering what the "Rockbag" cases are like? btw, for anyone whose considering this, they sound fanstastic for such a small/light package. and it reproduces a low B very well (certainly at any volume that I've played at home!) cheers G
The case is awesome. A lot better than the genuine GK ones, it has think padding, fits perfectly and is as strong as a very strong thing... Cos of the strap, it means you can carry the amp on one shoulder, and the bass on the other. Lots of other bassists who have GK's have commented on it... And cheers for the bump and kind words! Alex.
paste old yellowing manuscript paper over it, then lacquer it. Personally I'd leave it natural though, wax it. then it ages and looks messed up and nice
Trouble with that is the exposed routing that isn't particularly nice....

SOLD! Just listed my GK on ebay... it has an intermittant fault (which has hardly ever been happening of late) and i dont have the cash to get it sorted - i also need an amp for gigs etc asap. Might be an easy fix - or will probably turn out to be something easy if you take it to a pro... I will end the auction early for a basschater - just PM me for more info. Will also consider trades for a compactish rig solution - possibly 2x12 cab and head or similar... as ever, just tell me what you've got. Cash wise, im inviting offers. heres the link; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=320154711452 Cheers peeps! Alex. SOLD!
Hows the tracking on the lower strings? Don't suppose it can handle Low D can it?
Hi... I seem to remember it being pretty good. There was one riff that i used it for that included a G (3rd fret on E string) that it tracked nicely on. I had issues to start with, but didn't realise that it could do 2 octaves below - if you totally get rid of the second octave (when playing lower notes), and just have the note below your starting not it works well... not sure how it would handle a low D tho... Alex.

My octave pedal is on the bay for anyone interested? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=011 I've gone back to a multi unit, and haven't really used this since. Its a good pedal, a blatant rip off of the Boss OC-3, and exactly the same as the GLX pedals... Would be interested in trades - so let me know what you've got... Cheers! Alex.
