Mike has always been a true gent to me, gets all my "new" business and repairs etc. Trust him 100% - nothing's too much trouble.

I was in the London one the other day and they seemed really short on guitar and bass stock!
-
Wow, this is really nice. What is your "trades" policy?
-
absolute steal!
-
Well, I'm hoping kingforaday is a rum cove, and can't pay!

I'm reeling, a bargain! I just can't really justify it right now!
-
May I be next in line please?

Yep, Bass Cellar gets my vote as the vilest music shop I've ever had the misfortune to visit.

I don't suppose this is still available?
-
Hey, was this fixed at all, and if so, is it available?
-
Same here - mixup with my order but they are sorting it very efficiently. The covers are brilliant, and look fab.

Uncle Beedster is the voice of wisdom on these forums, I find him quite hypnotic!
I feel he could give me any sort of bad news, such as "The Titanic is Sinking" and I would say "Thank-you for the information....Is there anything available to eat? Presumably the buffet's a bit of a free-for all..." -
Quite - you haven't sold or a listed a Fender P this evening .... Is everything ok?
-
Nice bass, I got a Cort recently and I'm really impressed with it - they seem quite the unsung hero bargain basses! Good luck with the sale.

I was an early member of BW, and been here ever since. I'm not a huge poster, just a few a day really. Read a lot though! I can't remember how I found it - I think I was just looking for a closer to home bass forum than TB, where we could all bitch about how much we pay compared to America!
-
What irks me somewhat is that when I listed several basses a while ago, Kev missed getting one or two of them due to late PMs and they going quickly (as I think I had priced them extremely competively) and he sent me grumbling messages about how he never gets the good deals etc, and practically forced me to PM the seller to ask him to change his mind!
When he leapt on this one I sold, he seemed genuinely delighted - it's a shame it hasn't worked out for him, but I also think it's a shame that a profit is being made.
Saying that, I have a Ken Smith I got a cracking deal on (not in this, or the BT & BW communities) that frankly I couldn't sell for what I got it for, so I suppose we might all be guilty of it. If I were in a high-powered job, and money not an issue, I'd love to be in a position to give someone a great deal. Unfortunately, as a struggling musician & music teacher with a mortgage, I can't do that. However, I'm happy to take a slight hit to be able to sell a bass at a decent price to keep this great sale forum alive - with the added bonus of shifting one's gear promptly!

Darn...I've got to say, I was trying to keep it in the "BC Spirit" (Am the only idiot who believes in this??) to sell it for a really decent price when I could have got more for it - bit of a shame to see this, really.

The Jamie Aebersold series are perfect for this. All sorts - from blues in all keys, to II-V-1 progressions. You can download LOADS of his exceptional CDs on www.mp3fiesta.com - his rhythm sections are always ace, and you can use a stereo fader on your amp to hear just the left or right, cutting out bass, piano etc.
-
This REALLY grinds my gears. I appreciate the poor would-be buyer advising the rest of the Basschat fraternity (and Sorority, Mrs T!) of the problems he encountered.
A quick note - Seller joined 22nd Feb 08. For sale ad posted 22nd Feb 08.... -
That is absolutely ridiculous - how the hell can you wish him luck if you drove 100 miles to see it, only to be misled on the price?
Buyer beware, I'd say. Very poor show.
450 miles from home for 1 gig! Aberdeen to Leicester.
