  1. Great pedal and fully customisable via the Nuero suite, it's pretty much the cheapest way you can have chorus/Flanger/phaser/resonator in one pedal (massively saves board space). 100's of user presets available and you can program and access six different effects. They all sound amazing but I literally use a 4 stage Phaser live and I can get that with my C4 synth.

It's in fantastic condition, no box unfortunately (or i can't find it), hence the price drop, velcro on the bottom

  2. I've not had this long, but I've not had a chance to make it indispensable (my band has expanded so I'm not using so many synthy effects)

These are hand made in Santo Domingo and are very rare in the UK and you don't see them often,so its a great opportunity to get one. At its core its a very synthy Fuzz as used by John Davis of Nerve amongst others. One side of the pedal is a gated Fuzz, much like a Zvex Mastatron, but it has a clean blend, the other is a VCO or ring modulator, which can make spaceship/ laser gun sounds, to octave below sounds, to sample rate reduced sounds and any kind of synthy madness you can think of, it can be controlled with an expression pedal too, one of the coolest crazy yet musical pedals I've owned.

Even if you don't use the VCO side (you'll want too) it's worth the cash for the gated Fuzz.

The 2  toggle switches allows to route the expression/cv input to control, the fuzz voice volume, the VCO voice volume and/or the VCO voice Freq via the expression jack

This was bought brand new and imported by the previous owner, neither he or i have used it. No box but will be well packed for transport, I will include a brand spanking new never used TRS cable too.

  3. I think I'm mental doing this, but I really need a new rig.

This is a passive Jazz or P's best friend, a fantastic warm boost with the switches disengaged, it really adds that "special sauce" the three switched give different flavours of distortion to Fuzz, such a useful pedal, but ive always used it just on the edge of breakup, just sounds fantastic. No box I'm afraid but will be very well packed for delivery.

  4. I tried to sell this before and withdrew as I thought I'd need it, but it's still sat in a corner, and I need a new amp 🤣

Fantastic double gigbag with tons of storage and built like a tank, very solid, offering a lot of protection for your expensive instruments.

In pretty much new condition and I've literally used it half a dozen

Agreed, demos are questionable. Someone on TB spotted a somehow extra compression layer effect on Ian Allisson's demo iirc, which might not rely on the DCX itself - though one could argue saturation does compress signal. To be honest, these release vids, and the nature of the mid-gain drive, which is not 100% what i'm looking for, made me stay away from this pedal for a while.

But reviews of forum users and a sweeter priced 2nd-hand DCX in my neighbourhood helped me taking the plunge. Glad i did.

A sweeter priced used one would help me too haha.

None of the demos have done it for me as well, although the Bass the world one was decent.

If my JPTR Jive didn't fart out when using spectors (even ran at 18v) I wouldn't bother.

I'd perfectly see the DCX replacing both your Jive and Sadowsky pre. Got tons of deep lows on tap, might not reach Sadowsky sizzling highs but any change is noticeable on this side as well, and yeah, Drive knob at noon or so will provide nice hints of saturation as well, depending on the signal sent to the DCX.

Tested and tried it with passive basses only, but the DCX sees a buffered signal in my signal-chain. So my guess is it'd be equally at home with an active bass. It's a superb tone enhancer imo, reason why i'm using it after pedals already imparting some 'colour' and texture. Kinda sums up and improves the whole thing.

Oh, and it likes to be pushed with a gently compressed and boosted signal as well, result being a nice and quite easy to set smooth saturation in EQ mode.

Not sure if it'd provide all its goodness in an effect loop, just before the EBS might be a sweeter spot, but worth test & trying for sure.

I actually plan to use it after an FEA Optifet, so it'll have a nice compressed boost with some added warmth too. I put I in the EBS loop as I primarily use that as an A/B with DI, but of late I've only been using the one channel so I could move it to the end of the chain

  8. I'm very interested in the last two posts as ive a theatre gig in November and have to use IEM's, and the DCX would go into my EBS Microbass II loop. I've been thinking of selling my JPTR Jive and Sadowsky BP2 pedals as thinking the DCX may cover what these are doing (hopefully better) I want subtle saturation but one that will work with active basses as well as a decent EQ for my passive basses. I'm not too bothered about OD, but at that sort of cash I'd hope it was decent in that application.

Any current owners thoughts would be very welcome 😁

  9. I love this pedal,I use it with the Diodes off (I switch the top one on if I want OD) but I have the gain at 2 o clock and the volume down to taste. This thing is absolutely incredible with my P bass and jazz. It brings a great presence and life to the sound, however it doesn't like my Spector 4/5's and gets very farty, even when ran at 18V
