  1. Oof, you don't see these every day! The FEA comps really are the top tier of pedal compressors. Very Small operation in the US hence why many won't have heard of them (compared to origin) theres a very long waiting list for these currently.

Had a bit of a reshuffle and went to a slightly smaller board. Gone from a classic 2 to a metro 24. The following is the signal path.

    Bight onion patchbox

Sadowsky SBP1 DI/Preamp, (Donner tuner in the tuner output)

SFX Micro Thumpinator- (under the board)to get rid of the subsonics 25 Hz and below, helps tighten the low end.

FEA Optifet compressor- The ultimate pedal compressor, cali 76 and Diamond compressor sounds and more, a beauty

Boss Ls2 - Back to patchbox and two loops to switch between.

Channel A- source Audio C4 synth, six different Synth/ octave/filter/Bit crusher tones

    Channel B

Aguilar Octamizer- fantastic tone with filter for octave and tilt EQ for the clean tone, tracks well.

Cog Tarkin Fuzz- amazing Creamey Fuzz based on the green Russian Big muff, with a filtered clean blend (only clean lows) and mid control, and best name ever.

EBS Bass IQ- latest blue label version, tons of variety and a funky analogue sound.

Subdecay Baby Quasar phaser, great Analog phaser with plenty of control.

TC Corona mini chorus - Tons of toneprints, currently on the "sweet emotion" setting

Had another reshuffle and had to sacrifice the EBS filter to buy a fretless 🤪 I'm using the C4 to cover filters, but I'm damned if I can find a decent downsweep on it, especially to match the EBS.

The cog went for the same reason, but I replaced it with a very groovy looking Fuzzrocious Grey stache, Is a much more aggressive sound than I'm used too and it has a tendency to feedback. I found the Cog behaved better and I miss the clean blend. Oh well the fretless is great 🤣

  3. Please let us know, if there's a difference in sound. They are saying in the marketing that it sounds nearer the big box cali.

I love my FEA Optifet but ive been tempted to switch back to the cali for a brighter sound, so this is tempting.

The pedals I was waiting for (two compressors) arrived so I've now put my main board together. There's one more board to go; a certain sci-fi film series themed board but there's one pedal I'm waiting on which will hopefully be here in the next couple of weeks or so.

I've finally got a board where I have an octave, fuzz, octave, fuzz chain (I actually quite like fuzz into octave even if logic suggests I shouldn't but now I don't need to choose). It's power-hungry (it needs three IEC cables) and the settings pictured reflect those decided by my bedcover when the pedals were upside down while I was wiring it, but after some twiddling it sounds good!

    The chain is:

    BP1 > BP1 Loop Send: Strobostomp > Opti-FET > Octabvre > Doom 2 > Subsonic > TAFM > Frantabit > MBD3 > Cave Bear > XD > Type Two > AFG-1 > ADG-1 SE > Slow Loris > DLA-2A > Nimbus SE > BP1 Loop Return > Element (underneath board)

Very very nice! Is that one of the new "blackout" FEA optifets I spy?

  5. Identical to mine (right down to putting a black pickguard) mines a lighter green (like a sage) for some reason.

Absolutely fantastic basses and not just for the money, very good quality throughout and I've felt no need fo swap out pickups/pre etc.

Not many about in this colour either as it was discontinued (I do believe it's being reinstated in 2024)

  7. Just bought a wonderful Sire v7 fretless. This has come with a set of Daddario chromes flatwounds, but I intend to use light rounds on this bass due to hand issues, which I I've bought so these are surplus.

    Gauge 45- 132 beefy B string, they'll fit any jazz/p style/musicman 5.

They've been used (but not much) so settled but still full of life, the silks are immaculate and as new.

  9. Needing cash for something I want, so as a feeler, reluctantly moving on this amazing Fuzz.

Cog effects are legendry in their quality and I've owned a few. Based on the green Russian muff with some bass friendly mods including a variable mids control and a fantastic filtered clean blend. The clean blend is filtered so only the clean low end is present and the mids/highs are fuzzed, meaning you get a more coherent and musical sound.

In very good condition with high quality velcro attached, no box but will be very well packed.

    Sold
