I have a Strymon Zuma on one board and a Cioks DC7 on a small board. There were a number of considerations for me:
• Voltage requirements for 9, 12 and 18V
• Isolated outputs
• Spare 13A to IEC cables are easy to find in an emergency
• Plug in transformers (specifically the cable) can be damaged by repeated plugging and unplugging, plus storage etc

I went down the route of buying a bike chain and a punch for my guitar pedal board. I can't remember the exact price, but it worked out cheaper than buying those pre-split packs.

I will do any gigs you don’t fancy boys and girls I love gigging lol
I was thinking there could be a good opportunity for that, but realised I don't actually know that many covers! 🤣

I'm out!
I honestly thought I could make it, as I haven't seen anything for a long time that caught my eye.
Then Origin Effects brought out the BassRig and it was only a matter of time...

I think the thing here, is that Pete travels up and down the country playing well attended gigs to appreciative audiences. He mentions he's in a Led Zep tribute band, so it makes sense that not all of the gigs will be in the same geographical area.
I know a few bands from the Manchester area who play original music (I'll count my band as one of them) who play around the UK, simply for the reason that you can't keep doing the same stuff to the same crowd continuously.
I think the days of the "dance band" playing in the same location week in, week out, are long gone. The audiences want some variety in what they hear nowadays and even if you have an alternative setlist, it's only going to be sustainable for a finite number of gigs.

How is the HS? I have never played one. I am curious as DV247 have one in stock, also in black (not stealth) for £1,692. Sounds like a very tempting price, especially considering the "new normal" prices. It says "Showroom model/B-stock with replacement neck installed by distributor and scratches on pickguard".
I have the HSp, you can get a huge range of sounds out of it and, as others have said, the preamp is immensely powerful.

The smiles on there faces was worth the tv crap that goes with it . I’m not going to begrudge a couple of songs worth of time for a few people to achieve a life long ambition. Life is just to short.
Exactly my thoughts. Obviously there had to be the "forced" drama to make it tv friendly, but it was great to see how happy it made them.

I love being involved in any type of live performance, whether it be playing, acting, or running tech stuff. There's an immediacy to it which I find really addictive.
Still, I know it's not for everyone and it's all good as long as everyone's enjoying what they choose to do.

I actually realised I need to play more rather than talking about it all and buying everything.
I've heard that sort of attitude can get you banned from here!

Stocks of these seem to have pretty much run out - and they don't even have valves in them!
Andertons are due to be getting some stock at the end of the month, although I'm not sure if all of their pre-sales are spoken for.

The bingo preamp was in the Big Al too. In passive mode the Big A was a fine sounding bass. When in active mode the bass became a modern, fine tuneable machine. The EQ really does add that modern zing. The Bongo is a different voice to the Ray for sure and the neo magnets in the Bongo pick up add to this.
The Big Al was a great bass. It was a real shame that it didn't catch on more.

I'm not really offended by jokes such as that, I just think they're a bit rubbish and "easy".

This person must be an absolute joy to be around. As well as a terrible investor, exchanging £1.50 for 50p.
You might mock him, but they're going for £1.55 now, so who's the real winner eh??

My initial impressions (and pre-bias) was shattered after a bit of a play so it's definitely worth trying both. I'm still very uncertain as to which would be the most useful to me, and really looking forward to A/Bing them with my current pedalboard.
I'm really interested in hearing what you think the relative strengths of each one are.
My heart's telling me I want the SVT version, but I'm wondering if the fender version would be a better fit. We're a sort of folky, Americana type of band.

Skoda Rapid saloon for me, which is slightly smaller than the Octavia, but still with a fairly large boot.
I'm hankering after an Octavia Vrs estate for my next one, as I'm having a mid-life crisis, but am still just about sensible enough to consider load-carrying capacity!

90% of what I need to use my hx stomp for is amp sim and maybe compressor … this would be a fun alternative…
tuner there you go. Really trying to avoid being a pedal person! 😁
If I end up getting one (which is highly likely) I think it will end up on a small board with that configuration: tuner, compressor, bassrig

The site seems to be acting oddly. I'm sure there used to be away to delete posts.
Does my post only show that? To me it looks like there's some text with it.

As @skankdelvar said earlier on the thread, it's not a band, it's one person looking to form a band.

Maybe he wants to call the band "Flaccid Pen!s" and it wouldn't suit the image to have a woman in the band?

In my opinion, £850 for a British made bass (or guitar) is good value.
Good luck with it, I hope it works out.
