Bump for a beautiful bass!!
What is the string spacing on this one?
Do you have any sound samples? -
Wow...Oh boy. I almost had to check the bank there but can now breath a sigh of relief!
If it had been a 34" I may well have been tempted.
You have a beautiful collection too...one other that would certainly be a temptation is your Emperor Elite Chestnut. That looks like just about my perfect bass.
Good luck with the sale!! -
Hey Guys,
This was brought to my attention by Joe Hubbard and I thought I'd share it here too.
The site description says -
"This is a petition to the Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee for recommendation to the Postmaster General that Jaco Pastorius be honored with a commemorative postage stamp to be issued by the U.S. Postal Service. Pastorius is known as The World's Greatest Bass Player for his innovative techniques and challenging compositions."
I really think this is an important cause, and I'd like to encourage you to add your signature, too. It's free and takes just a few seconds of your time.
"Jaco Pastorius Commemorative Stamp"

It would be great if you feel you can add your signature and support to honor Jaco, who gave so much to bassists, the bass guitar and music community.
Thanks,
Tiernan -
Congratulations Pete. I'm glad it has finally arrived. You look chuffed to bits in the picture
And it's position on Jon's front page is well deserved...Another stunning example of his work and he is clearly well pleased too!

Cheers Shaun...A pleasure doing business with you

A very swift and painless deal with a top bloke. Prompt payment and great communication
Enjoy the bass!!!

Now all sold...
Thanks,
T -
That look great Can't wait to see it finished!!!
What's the neck construction. It looks like 3 pieces...
I was thinking of having a 3 piece neck if I go for another custom.

Hey Iscoleman,
Would you consider a trade for a Lakland 55-01D Cherry burst (with a bit of cash from me)?
PM me if you'd be interested in some kind of deal.
Cheers,
T -
In the spec of this bass you state the pickups are bartolinis, but in the pictures they look very much like SD basslines.
Did you do a swap at some point?
Thanks
Good point Hit&Run...They are indeed basslines and I'm going to check the pre that's inside...and all the other points on the blurb above!!!
(That'll teach me for mindlessly copying information from the Lakland site and not reading properly.) -
Sunday evening pre-dinner bump!!
-
Another beauty from the stables of Mr Shuker
Very nice indeed...Enjoy!!! -
Another bump for a great bass...Price now £550!!!

Humpty Bumpty
Anyone interested?
Cheers,

Thanks for your kind words guys.
Mike, the bass was just plugged straight into my focusrite box and not EQed so it's pretty representative of the bass sound. I'm getting to know it a bit better now so it's making the kind of noise I intend...which is always nice When you get a minute, put some sound up of your new midi setup. I'd love to hear it.
Cheers,
T -
Ok Mike...Heres a little taster I just knocked together. It's a sloppy in places and the melody is a little derivative but I hope you like the sound anyway.
It's a garageband classic The drums are a sample, the 'bass line' is palm muted and the melody line is just finger style.

Enjoy.

Bump for a great players bass...!!!

Hey Mike,
I saw this Sei when you first had it made...It looks a peach and sounds great. I can't wait to hear what it sounds like fully midi-enabled:)
Have fun with it!
I have just bought a 44-01, and can attest to these being a VERY fearsome force to be reckoned with. Just one of those basses that..is very hard not to like
Just a slightly off topic question actually, if you don't mind me asking. How easy was it to change out the knobs on yours? I have an all black 44-01 which although looks very classy, I'm thinking some equally classy knobs could really compete the look such as yours.
Thanks for the endorsement. It is a real beauty but I can't keep it and not play it...as I'm sure you'll agree, that would be criminal!!!
On the pots...Not too hard to change I shouldn't think. Most either push on/ pull off or are fixed by an inset screw on the side of the pot.
You can buy replacements from a few different guitar/bass parts suppliers.
Good luck if you choose to change them over -
Thanks for the info and thanks Eude for the link to Rob's bass. His looks really great, I may contact him to see if he's got any suggestions! A deep pocket sounds like a possibility
I was also looking at the possibility of a 3 piece body with an Alder "tone block" and a Swamp Ash wings or all Swamp Ash, both with a thick dark, sumptuous piece of buckeye for the top. Nothing set in stone and I need to speak to Jon first. If I go ahead, it'll be (hopefully) the last bass I need or want
Peted, It's still raising a smile I really can't wait to see yours...Not long I guess! -
Wow....So it's a Lakland selling frenzy!!! Where did they all come from?
Well...Bump Bump! Offers anyone?
And it's a "Cherry burst", Like Jojobass' 55-02!!! -
Thanks again guys...
Dood, I was wondering, is your new single cut a set neck?
I got to say, I'm so thrilled with this one, I'm seriously considering getting Jon to build me another (once the bank balance recovers!)...I'm getting the spec together now and single cut is on the agenda with a set neck...any thoughts?
T -
Good stuff Peted...I'm really looking forward to seeing this one
I'm so chuffed with mine, I have been spec-ing up the next!!! -
So...Sorry for the delay. Here are the pictures to help the imagination!!

I'm not keen on shipping so collection from West London would be preferable.
I also have an SWR Red Head that I may sell but I'm undecided about that at this point...
