I got a mint Markbass CMD121P combo for £500 on this very forum, so you can do it. The guy even delivered it my door, top bloke! Excellent sound and really easy to carry up stairs with one hand too.

I have the CMD121P (I got mine 2nd hand for £500) and highly recommend it; although the slightly bigger 121H is meant to sound better. Awesome clean but warm sound, and I have a VT Bass pedal to dial in the old school Ampeg tones. Although I'm not gigging at the moment, I've heard of plenty of people who have gigged with just CMD121P by itself, but you can always get the extension cab later for extra oomph.

Mouse Piano? EBS Microbass on a belt clip? Are you avin a giraffe?

I don't think they're out yet. Also, the 121H cab is taller but has a better quality tweeter and more low end from the larger enclosure - that's what I would get to go with my 121P should the need arise!

The Orange Crush 35B is worth a look... should be bigger and bassier than the 20B you tried.

Now that's what I call a stomp box! I wonder if I could get a similar effect by just stomping on a microphone though with the same EQ settings?

After you've been gigging for a few years you probably can't hear above 5kHz anyway!

I used to have a DHA VT2, and I've not encountered anything since that can add the same great sounding shimmering harmonics over my sound. The VT1-EQ-Drive looks great, I'd go for it if the bulk of it and the heavy power supply aren't an issue for you. I want to pick up another one some day.

For me though, I wanted something smaller and 9v powered (I know the DHA can work at 9v but really sounds best at 12v) and settled on the new Sansamp VT Bass, which I much prefer over the older BDDI. People are going nuts over this pedal, there's a huge thread over at Talkbass where people are wetting themselves and talking about it like it's the messiah. It's not the messiah, it's a very naughty pedal.

And by all accounts this Wilson is a serious piece of kit and knocks seven shades out of the 105Q. If I had money to play with and spend on new toys I would jump on it... someone needs to snap this up before I crumble!

I would check out the Barefacedbass Vintage for a lightweight 2x15. But that's nearly all your clams gone right there...

Loads have popped up for sale on Talkbass recently, go there and keep em peeled.

He said he made it from scratch. Hammond make a similar one though if you were thinking of making one yourself.

If one of the amps has a tuner out, you could use that to link to the other amp. If the tuner output is buffered then even better.

Only thing with the Bad Monkey is that the amp output has a speaker sim on it that dulls your sound, even when the pedal is off.

You can also use a stereo chorus pedal set to a very slow subtle setting. This will thicken up your sound a bit as well as splitting your signal.

Nice job. I'm about to make a mini version with just one loop, and was wondering what kind of wire to use... yours doesn't look like the kind of wiring you see in effects pedals, more like household mains wiring!

You could probably whip out the driver and find out the exact model of the speaker and find the specs on the Eminence site.

Nah, they only do the flanged one and it's over £7! Cheers though.

Also, get a folding luggage cart, it'll make your life a lot easier!
