1. Bassix EUB. Apparently this was a prototype and is as such unique.

Its 34'' scale length was a magnetic pickup.

Its also V shaped and purple.

It makes me laugh everytime I look at it. Plays amazingly - currently strung with Roto nylon wounds.

Only selling as I have become very time poor and don't like having instruments sitting around that I haven't got time to play.

It needs a new jack plug fitted as is intermittent - haven't got around to doing it but should be a 10 minute job.

It comes with a slightly worn double bass gig bag.

I'm based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire - happy to meet up / deliver for costs.

  2. Ibanez Musician Bass.

This was my main gigging bass for a long time. It has been somewhat modified over the years.

Last year I decided that I was going to refurb it - however, I have become very time poor so realistically I won't get around to giving it the time it deserves.

    Its a January 1981 model. I believe an MC924.

At some point the following has taken place :-

Its been sprayed white. This is worn in places to show the original Dark Stain colour underneath.

The pickups and active circuit have been removed and replaced with EMG jazz pickups. The routs have been filled (its quite a neat job - the black marks around the pickups appears to be some kind of residue from anti noise paint.

The EMG pickups no longer work properly.

The tuners have been replaced with schallers.

This will require some time and effort to get back to original condition, but would be very playable with some new pickups (I was going to get it routed back out for EMG 45's) and a set up.

I am based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. I will not be posting this but happy to travel for delivery / meet up.

  3. A very unusual electro acoustic bass !

Big bodied (fits in a cello hardcase) 34'' scale - sounds incredible.

Its the only acoustic bass guitar I have ever played that allows you to actually hear (and feel) the low E.

Handmade in Cornwall. It was originally left handed but has at some point been converted to right handed - meaning that the jack output is on the 'top' of the body.

It can be played on a strap (guitarron style). When I brought it I talked to Mr Kif about having a spike made for it, so to play it like a baby upright or mandobass.

Really is a quality instrument - beautiful detail and construction.

Selling, along with some other bits and pieces as I am time poor at the moment and don't like having instruments sitting not being played.

I'm not going to post this happy to meet up / deliver at cost. I'm based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

  4. Prose Bass handmade short scale fretless.

    30'' Scale length.

Bolt on maple neck / fingerboard. lovely figuring on board.

Not sure what the body is - lovely wood anyway.

    Hipshot tuners.

Passive pickup - no tone or volume to get in the way.

Lovely sound - lots of 'mwah' and harmonics.

Selling along with various other interesting basses as I have become to time poor to do them justice.

I'm based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire but travel alot. Not comfy with posting but can deliver / meet up etc.

Also for sale - Kif acoustic bass, Bassix Purple Flying V EUB and Ibanez Musician project bass.

  5. Hi,

For sale K&M orchestral music stand with K&M light.

Both items are used with some wear and tear but are in perfect working order.

The ABS top of the stand detaches and the base folds down for easy transport. As you would expect from K&M solidly built.

The lamp is a mains halogen type.

I have a few of these available if you need more than one.

Fairly bulky and heavy to post but can do for cost.

Welcome to come and see if it suits you in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

    Cheers

  6. Hi,

Obtained in a trade. Haven't tested it but am assured it is fully working.

Its a heavy duty old beast.

    Specs - lifted from elsewhere

The RA2000 is a solid well built amp, a workhorse through and through. Built to withstand life on the road, 450w per channel @ 4 ohms, 900w in bridge mode @ 8 ohms, in a 2u rack space. Inputs are via XLR and jack, outputs on binding post.

  7. I think that this is two musicians that have been cunningly joined together post factory - note the different headstock facings. The 8 string one would be worth having just on its own.

I'd need to employ someone to hold it for me if I fancied gigging it though...

  8. Hi Hadge,

Thanks for the advice mate, not offended at all. The thought has occured to me, that I will regret selling it. I've had a few Musician basses over the years and I spent a long time looking for one of these limited edition ones.

The way I'm thinking about it is that its going towards my wedding,so it will make my missus happy, which has got to be worthwhile. I also hope that I can use some of the cash to get my 'original' Musician (which I brought far to long ago) sorted out in terms of pickup and finish.

The limited edition is as good as I thought it would be - but to be honest I've got to many basses for someone who isn't gigging enough.

As the gigs I'm doing have got smaller I'm less and less inclined to take instruments I care about to them - I hate watching stands / cases all night ! So, I'm now gigging with a bass that is, I grant you pretty cool and plays well (its a Sandberg) but doesn't really have much emotional investment.

I'm hoping that whoever buys it will get the use out of it deserves.

I'll keep an eye out for any left hand ones ! (I wonder if they made any ???)

    Cheers

  10. For my part I would consider that the ability to write a simple, but effective idea (by which I mean bares repetition, grabs attention, directs listener to a central theme, allows one to build on arrangement etc) is at least as worthy of description as 'art' as a more technically demanding, and perhaps extended idea.

Certainly I find that I struggle more to write an effective cycling riff or motif than an themically developing progression.

I consider one of the core 'arts' of composition to be the linking & layering of many simple ideas to develop into something which (hopefully) becomes more than the sum of its parts.

The idea of 'micro' cells (or Bilbos little boxes) building into a pleasing whole (a nice shiny big box ?) is surely where the art lies ?

  11. Stereo Flanger - made in the USA.

I suspect of early 90's vintage (569... serial number, if anyone is interested). Few scratches to case but in good order. Haven't got a PSU handy but have tested with a battery and is working fine.

Its quite a subtle flanger - but very cool in stereo mode. I think I have got to used to my Boss BF2 and its harshness to appreciate it, so moving it on.

    Now sold elsewhere cheers

  12. Hi Guys,

Working in a band alternating between standard and drop D at the moment, typically with songs not grouped in tunings.

Any suggestions on direct replacement drop tuner for my Sandberg California PM. Needless to say I require tuning stability and don't want to drill any holes in the headstock.

Emailed Sandberg for their thoughts, but nothing forthcoming from them.

    Cheers

    Gray
