Someone was looking for one of these recently in the 'Wanted' section...
Good luck -
A 'highly insulted' hookup wire...what's this pickup ever done to you...?
-
If you fancy a Zvex, try the Woolly Mammoth.

I've seen a Westone on evilbay that I'm now monitoring. Do they balance well on strap and lap as the top horn looks a lot shorter that on some other basses? How's the weight too?
I've not noticed any problems with balance.
These tend to be a fair weight as they are very well made but the body is slightly smaller then 'normal' so nothing to worry about IMO. -

...than when I'm using the "lazy" fretted.

Did a deal with Beedster and have to report his excellent service.
Plenty of communications, item was well packed and promptly delivered.
Many thanks -
Another bump for a beautiful guitar - these are currently available on Ebay for over £400...mine is £225 posted within the UK.
I would also be interested in trades/PX with a nice 1U rack-mount bass preamp. -
Have you considered two 2X10 cabs instead of one 4X10...?
You get more flexibility (small gigs or rehearsals you can just take one), each cab will be much lighter than a 4X10 and, if you vertically stack them, they will sound way better.
Just a thought... -
Westone basses are available within that price range - here's a Thunder 1A: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Westone-Thunder-I-A-Fretless-Bass-Guitar-Flat-Wound-Strings-Shipping-Case-/130651889185?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item1e6b759e21
This is the active, single pickup version of the Thunder III.
Top quality, made in Japan by Matsumoku.

Very nice! What strings are you using?

I have just picked up a set of Rotosound SM77 and a set of Ti jazz flats to try but I haven't had a chance to fit either of them yet...bl**dy work gets in the way of everything... -

I would say go unlined: it's very liberating, and if you've played fretted long enough your "fretting" hand will fall into the right shape anyway. You always have side dots for big jumps!
+1
Unlined is much easier than you would think and looks better IMHO. -

"once" is not today... maybe you should try again, you may be pleasantly surprised
Line6 G30 here for the past 2-3 years. These units are nothing like the old radio transmitters.

Sorry my point was not well-worded, I'll try again:
I had a wireless system but after doing a direct comparison with a top-quality instrument cable, I immediately sold the wireless.
YMMV -

Something similar in BGM this month. Norman W-R is talking about getting a Bass made with a 45 year old piece of wood and the luthier using hide glue from way back when. He then says 90% of his sound comes from his fingers.......

...and 9% from the pickups and electronics -

They look good, I saw a bass player using one of those, in white, last week.
But I much prefer my wireless

My photography is hopeless and won't do it justice.
It's exactly like this one. -

Still looking for a trade for this beauty - I'm interested in Precisions mainly.
A Fender 62 reissue (MIJ) in anything but sunburst would be great as a P/X or a Tokai Hardpuncher would also be tempting...what you got...? -
Very nicely done - I've been toying with a decent 2X10 design.
-
There's a Barefaced Vintage T (2X15 + tweeter) in the for sale section...
-
Bought a nice Behringer BDI21 still in its' original packing from lowdown.
Delivered promptly, good communication.
