thanks every one for your input. we have tried making suggestions such as positioning of his amp ect. im glad that what you have suggested collectivley is exactly what im thinking so i guess give him till xmas then im gonna have to risk a band fold by addressing it directly. at least i can say ive tried every thing!

Don't waste time making suggestions like that, address it directly. Why wait till christmas? address it in an honest and forthright way and if he can't handle that then you probably are better off getting rid. Playing gigs with a guitarist that makes the band sound bad will do far more damage to the band in the long run, I'd try and get it dealt with as a matter of urgency if he is as bad as you say.

Either way, good luck and I hope it works out :)

2. Aretha Franklin's Think, the Blues Brothers version has been doing it for me today. Bounces along really nicely
and I've been having so much fun with it.
Tailfeather and She Caught the Katy as well actually, been having a bit of a Blues Brothers day, so much great bass
and so much fun to play

3. I'd go for a refund, his description is misleading at best and bull*&!£ at worst. I'm sure it is a decent bass but look in the for sale section on here and you could have a Japanese or Mexican Fender for that money or any number of other interesting basses. They'll will be well looked after and wont turn up covered in gunk!

4. I think the OPs point refers more to community members who you wouldn't necessarily expect to act in the way you would expect a music shop to.

I am constantly amazed at some of the generous deals available on these boards, people generally happy to sell on gear for roughly what they paid rather
than looking to turn a profit. If all of us were to act in the manner the OPs trader did then the basschat boards would wind up a much less attractive and
friendly place to trade our gear.

Would it be a greedy to have two black one?
A funk unlimited just come up for sale on basschat .........

I'd argue that you'd be preserving them for the good of mankind, a civic service almost... :D

7. Congrats, that is lovely! Absolutely love the look of these, with or without the blocks they look great. I was shocked at how
reasonable the prices are, I would have gussed they were more expensive. Wish they did lefty models!

8.
I know he gets slated but he showed a fine array of melodic and 8ths. If only he smiled more!
I don't think I've seen him slated, he's a better player than he's given the chance to show with FF but even then what he plays is tasteful, melodic and fully in service of the song.
Sunny Day Real Estate gave him more room for maneuver as player but he's never less than solid and often very interesting.

Royal Blood really do put on a great live show as well, very good choice for support for Foo Fighters.

9. I've had the lefty Sandberg, TM4 with the MM style pickup at the bridge for a couple of months now. I'm still thrilled with it, looks
lovely and has a stained finish that really lets the wood grain show, build quality is as good as any of the Fender or Musicman basses
I've owned and the sound is lovely.

The solo'd jazz pickup at the neck sounds like a classic jazz, the MM style bridge pup really gives it some balls and can be run in single
coil mode for a more bitey jazz tone. Sounds just as good in passive mode where the treble control works as a traditional tone control.

Really is a versatile well built bass.

Maruszczyk are probably worth a look as well, you could probably spec your own for a reasonable price and they look and sounds great.
They have a black jazz in lefty at the moment, maple with blocks, a really looker and just under 800 euros.

Whatever you require to do your thing is what's required. Simples. Setting is utterly irrelevant
Amen! I'm puzzled as to how this thread has come this far, if the player and their audience are happy who gives a flying ^&!" what anyone else thinks is required
