Well, Bound 2 has got to be the worst rapping I have ever heard, and the rest of it is just as bad. If it had been anyone bar Kanye it would have been dismissed as third rate rapping as that is exactly what it is. The sampling is fourth rate. Oh yeah, he can`t sing Bohemian Rhapsody either.

Bound2 being another song containing yet another sample he couldn't be bothered to get permission for. I don't buy the entertainer/artist/persona angle, all I see is a shameless self promoting misogynist w***er.

    It's official;

BC is really convincing me the whole Beatle thing has always been bigger and more important to us baby boomer yanks than the English.

With all the negativity I can't help but wonder if The Beatles did something to the English I don't know about?

Lighten up man, a bit of light hearted banter is all that's going on. Noone took a crap in one of the Queen's hats

  3. It sounds like you get enough out of playing that you shouldn't give in. If you can't take formal lessons then maybe consider subbing to something like Scottsbasslessons?

It also sounds like you've plateaued and are getting frustrated, don't doubt that we've all been there, some days I pickup the bass and for whatever reason I just don't feel it and it can be best to know when to take a break and not keep banging your head against a wall.

Try stepping outside of your musical comfort zone, I was in a similar rut and made an effort to really broaden my musical horizons and go where the good bass lines were, be it pop, reggae, ska, punk, metal, just trying to grow as a player. I had been stuck in a bubble of stuff I was familiar with for so long that I stopped progressing and started to get fed up. Best thing I ever did as a bass player.

  4. It seemed to me that the organisers had little confidence in Coldplay and they almost seemed like an after thought once thunder thighs and Bruno Mars (who I thought
    was great again) turned up.
I think the show needs more energy that a band like Coldplay can give even with Chris amped up and bouncing around the place.

That bit right at the end with the three of them singing to the camera with Chris Martin squeezed in at the back summed it up, an afterthought at what was supposed to be their show.

  5. I think you'd probably have to go used to get an good upgrade over the bass you have, but in the meantime getting to
PMT and trying as many basses as you can will be a help.

And I am sorry but Squier not Squire! unless you're a knight in which case, err, as you were I 'spose

  6. I can't see the harm in asking the seller to pass along contact details, whether they choose to or not is entirely up to them of course and I wouldn't take any offense at them choosing not to. I was sorely tempted to try it myself with a great looking bass that I missed out on, probably would have got me nowhere but I did consider it.

  7. Played the PM and TM 4 basses and the star for me were the delano pickups. Never played active basses where I found it as easy to dial in a great tone. The P and J pickups on the respective models were both great and the humbucker, whilst not exactly MM had a nice tone which really opened up the range of sounds on offer, never mind the coil tap!

The TM4 I had was light and beautifully balanced and the stained finish was just gorgeous. Unfortunately the bridge had been installed too far back and it had to go back to Sandberg. Pretty big oversight in QC terms, how it was setup and signed off by their QC inspector is a mystery to me as it was never going to be intonate correctly with the bridge so far out of whack.

As far as the Fender comparisons go, the Sandberg's definitely have a more modern hifi sound and are IMO a par with but no better than the half a dozen US Fenders I've owned in terms of materials or fit and finish. They feel like nice, well build basses and look bloody great.

There are plenty of offers that cut eBay fees down to almost nothing, you just have to be able to be flexible about when you want to sell stuff.

Absolutely, last bass I bought on ebay had an offer that meant they took £100 off the price and the last one I sold there was an offer that meant I paid £20 in total fees. They do
    have so great regular offers.
