If I'm in the audience, I know I've been a bit annoyed when the bloke next to me films the whole set on his iphone, but if I'm on stage I'm happy to see a few cameras pointed at us - it suggests people might actually talk about us after the event, which is a nice thought!

I think that's the most annoying thing for me about going to a gig, I don't want to see the band through a sea of view finders. All so someone can have a blurry video with terrible sound quality. It really does bug me, I paid to watch the band, not your bloody phone screen

What typically could the full purchase price of an item be that is selling for example for £100 on the Thoman website? Are there any 'unseen' charges?

I've never paid any more than the price displayed on the site, no extra charges at all. That being said, I've suffered a little on two refunds but that was the exchange rate not Thomann ;)

  3. Congrats! that is stunning, I just love that. One of my favourite colour combinations and the maple board looks so nice.

I'll be looking for something new soon, P/J would be nice and Maruszczyk are getting near the top of the list.
The more I see of their gear the more I want one!

  4. Maybe it'd help if they went a tad slower, maybe put bridges in the right place :P

I would love another PM4, ideally I'd swap this bass for one of those. I really do like the TM4 but the Precision variant is even better.
Despite the issue I've had with this bass the pickups/eq are really, really good. Stupidly easy to dial in huge range of sounds and
the passive mode is just as nice.

  5. I was pretty surprised too! Thomann were great and said it'd be a two-four week turnaround via Sandberg with no communication update expected from Sandberg. That bit seems much less great.

Hopefully they can put it right and then I can sell it and buy something else, I just can't seem to own any bass for too long without getting GAS for something else!

  6. To be fair the first two were damaged/used and sold as new by Thomann, only this one seems to be Sandberg at fault. I figured I couldn't possibly get three duff basses in a row from Thomann, you have to look pretty hard to find many people who've had bad experiences with them. Just lucky I suppose!

  7. Gah! not really used the Sandberg until recently and much to the surprise of myself and my tech it seems
they installed the bridge too far back, not enough travel in the saddles to intonate it correctly.

Thomann concur and they've sent it back to Sandberg for correction or a possible refund. Three
Sandbergs in a row and an issue everytime! this is getting bloody annoying. I think they must
have the YTS kid doing QC on the lefites :P

On the bright side I dug out my first bass, my Encore E83 precision copy. Hadn't touched it in maybe sixteen
years. Stripped it down, cleaned it, tweaked the truss rod, set the intonation and wow, I can't believe a bass
that was only £130 to begin with that hasn't seen the light of day in so long feels and sounds so good!

  8. Skunk Anansie, the Mrs wanted to see them, I wasn't fussed but went along to keep her company. Cass's bass kicked in so loudly the security with their backs to the stage simultaneously jumped from the shock and he was worth the ticket price on his own! Great player, great tone and a very good night.

  9. RHCP at Reading were up there for me, I know it was the tail end of a long tour but there was nothing, endless uninspired jamming with zero chemistry.

Marilyn Manson, I'm not really a fan but I've wound up seeing him a few times and at Leeds festival he was dire, contempt for his
audience couldn't have been more obvious and he was clearly only onstage long enough to fulfil the contract. An absolute disgrace of a show.

  10. I love the first album, front to back, I love every track on that album. Second was great, then little by little I've found less to like on each release and and really kind of lost interest in their current stuff.
Seen them live many, many times, from their first tour to arenas and festivals and I've never seen a bad show. Nice to see Pat playing with them again as well.

Would love Dave to get Them Crooked Vultures together for another album, always great to hear him drumming!

  11. I'd go with a section for community, only viewable to those with a certain post count and an open section for the non community sellers viewable by everybody.
Being a lefty I didn't realise how many FS threads were 1/0 post Europe sellers with no interest in the community.
