It appears to be the input pot lugs and volume pot lugs, gonna try blob of mastic on then try again.

I'm looking for an Underwood or Shadow pick up at the moment, I'm using Fishman BP100 just now which I like for the most part but seems to choke on the G string. I did buy the K&K Sound Bass Master Pro Upright Bass Pickup System but took it off, couldn't get a good sound from it. I swapped it for a spare BP100 and some other bits and pieces. I also have a magnetic Schaller which has a good sound but being metal, rattles like a jailers keys when amplified.

Obviously changed G string, sounds fine acoustically, tried positioning pup paddles, changed bridges.

I guess try another type of pup?

I have a 60's Hofner bass for sale, needs restoring and parts, I was given it from a friend years ago but never got around to fixing it up, as you can see it has had a few additions of pots pick-ups and tuning pegs over the years but I have tried to fill them up as best as I could. The bass was also a horrible green colour when I got it so I stripped it back. I would consider a trade or swap of some kind. This would be a great restoration project for someone or a dealer looking to sell on. Comes complete with original case.
£100 quid and its yours or willing to swap.

Thanks again Mark, I have copied this and I will let tech boy have a gander, re TE, I think you are right about pots, I seem to remember other tech guy I used waxing lyrical about linear or logarithmic and he said as long as value was the same, it would be okay. I will ask the guy that lookin at my GK about this too! This would certainly explain things.

Sorry to sound vague but I'm sure its the MB150S? bought amp from guy down in London a few months back, done a handful of gigs with it and its stil with tech guy, he has manual. I know theres a MB150 AND MB150S mines unless I'm mistaken is S.

Thanks for that MoonBassAlpha, mmm! that's interesting, these amp were reckoned to be the dogs bollocks when they came out too. I will let my man know, been on a few forums and seemingly problems with limiters and other stuff I know nothing about frankly.

Eventually found wiring diagram for GK Krueger MB150s , GK not much help unless you had bought it and registered it with them, mine was bought second hand. Downloaded diagram from DIY Audio so if anybody out there wants a wiring diagram for said amp, give me a shout.

Going through a bad time with gear at the moment, had my Trace Elliot GP 12 smx in in for repair recently as Output pot was noisy, tech guy replaced pot with another 50 k pot, not Trace, the same week my input gain pot was dodgy and cutting volume , my tech guy checked it out and said it was okay but that I now needed to replace input blend pot which he did but still feel I am having to drive amp more than normal to achieve my normal volume. Also my GK/ SB150S that I use for DB has lost power! couldn't get any volume unless I had it cranked right up! I use different leads for both set ups so not leads. both amps sound okay but not totally different volume and EQ to what I normally have them set at. am I going deaf or daft or both. In both cases I have a simple EQ tweak and away we go but now continually turning and and twiddling?? help!
